3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
33cl bottle @ home. Better to sip this alone, I tried it along with some pistacchio chocolate, but the very best of it came after a few sips without it. Pour a black liquid, with shades of brown, head is small but persistent Nose is raw but very interesting, I get ground coffee, tobacco, cocoa, I’d say a little leather and a warm sweet liquorice and dark fruits note after a while. Very harsh and bitter at first sip, it gives its best in the end, with some really slight alcoholic sweetness and a hint of acidity that makes it drinkable. Long pleasant aftertaste. If I was to describe this beer in a word it would be rustic, I had more "elegant" imperial stouts, more chocolatey, but this is one of my favourites.
Dark brown color. Aroma: coffee, caramel, bird cherry and chocolate. Taste: caramel and bird cherry with coffee, quite good. tderoeck (9968) - Gent, BELGIUM - JUL 13, 2017

Clear dark brown beer, almost black, creamy beige head, pretty stable, bit adhesive, leaving some lacing in the glass. Aroma: lots of coffee, roasted, little sweet, caramel. MF: soft carbon, full body. Taste: sweet, sugary, malty, caramel, bit roasted, lots of dried fruits, some coffee. Aftertaste: sweet, sugary, pretty roasted, more coffee.
September 20, 2015 - at Craft (Clerkenwell) on Waiting For Garthicus Day. Draught keg. Thick dark brown-black with creamy lasting tan head. Aroma quite a melange of mint, dark chocolate, strong herbal bitterness, a little nutty and sweet, well-hidden alcohol. Taste is totally chocolate, and good with it (light mint) - lovely. Frothy mouthfeel, so airy - hint of herbal bitterness as it finishes, but almost entirely smooth creamy dark chocolate. Simple and terrific. L_Lovecraft (609) - - DEC 29, 2016
Coffee, i don’t know but for me also bitter and floral notes likes genziana, practically black with a good tan head, medium/full body, law/medium carbonation, coffee and leather...a good and atypical imperial stout. indrekr (550) - ESTONIA - AUG 30, 2016
I doubt if all was ok with this bottle. Aroma: smells like coffe settlement in espresso machine, earthy, soily. Appearance: black, clear, no head.light sweetness, where is bitterness? Palate: soft carbonation, light body, thin feel, light bitter, astringent, aftertaste.

Lotto 317 15.
Corpo pieno, carbonazione medio-alta, corposa. Blastomorpha (93) - - MAY 23, 2016
Pours pitch black with a cappuccino head; funny how every little bubble was perfectly alligned.
Aroma is very rich of coffe, chocolate, liquorice and assorted spices and the taste keeps all of that. Very sweet and aromatic but not too much.
The full body and medium-low carbonation makes it very sirupy... but beware of the alcoholic content!
Very good, it reminded me a lot of Mikkeller’s Vanilla Shake, just a bit tamer. madnorwegian (235) - FRANCE - APR 17, 2016
A VERY flavorful beer: coffee, leather, tabacco, burnt toast all mixted into a syrupy brew. Packs 9% alcohol so isn’t something you can have too much of. Would drink again beside a fireplace in winter. Diabobale (512) - ITALY - APR 3, 2016
