Bevuta il 29/12/2017 @ExtraomnesBier&Cibo in Castellanza (VA). Bottiglia da 33cl. Colore ambrato. Poca schiuma evanescente. Al naso sentori legnosi, etilici e speziati, avverto un ricordo di sidro di mele. In bocca note vinose, speziate e caramellate, leggero biscotto. La componente liquorosa emerge nettamente rendendo la bevuta molto riscaldante. Finale decisamente secco. Texture un po' acquosa. Bassa carbonazione. Forse un po' stucchevole. Bottle - Vintage 2014 - Sweet butterscotch and apricot with some oxidization. Cloudy gold with a small white head. Apricot, and sweet fruity notes. Old but decent considering it’s age. Oakes (19426) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - NOV 22, 2017
Hazy amber. Not much head. A little bit oxidized, with a shade of alcohol. On the palate, it's okay, has some oxidation but also some fruity notes, a shot of alcohol, light esters, and the malts aren't bad still - they still have just enough young life in them to work. That mix of fruitiness and wood in the finish is nice. mcberko (19869) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - NOV 22, 2017
Vintage 2013. 330mL bottle, pours a cloudy dark amber brown with a small beige head. Aroma is quite oxidized, with Belgian yeast and cardboard. Flavour is similar, with oxidation, Belgian yeast, a hint of sweetness, and cardboard. Yeasty and oxidized on the finish. Not too pleasant anymore - thanks fiulijn for another oxidized beer. Aroma of yellow fruit, red fruit, wood, citrus, lactic, caramel in the background and further something nutty. As the beer gets warmer some spicy aromas come out: cumin, pepper, cloves. Ruby red color, very little foam. Its sweetness is properly balanced by a medium body and by the citric and lactic freshness from the maturation in wine barrel (i don’t know which wine) that somehow gives balsamic notes. Velvety, soft carbonation, a little astringent finish. The Reserva 2012 is one of the best italian beers I’ve ever tasted, it’s a masterpiece of balance between the malt mildness and its slightly sour character. Chapeau!
