At a tasting, small stable creamy head, very cloudy, very light orange colour, yeasty saison aroma wityh lemon and wood and a funky mustard hint, funky candy flavour with some spicey peppery notes, light long lasting sour candy aftertaste. Good solid saison.

Bottle @ La Corte del Ciliegio, Castellanza. Giallo dorato, velato. Schiuma bianca fine e persistente. Aroma intenso, speziato, pepe. Fruttato , quasi agrumato, qualche nota floreale che non riesco ad identificare (gelsomino?) e frumento. Gusto abboccato all’ingresso, velocemente vira sul secco tipico dello stile. Acidula, di nuovo speziata e floreale. Abbastanza amara. Carbonatazione intensa, abbastanza calda, spigolosa. Facile beva. Una delle migliori saison Italiane. molto equilibrata.

Aroma is somewhat fruity but complex can’t pinpoint the characteristics of it.
Grainy cereal taste followed by fruity ctrus spicy notes. The cereal character is amazing. Mouthfeel is very good.

UPDATED: AUG 13, 2014 Another Italian micro brewery with fine artisanal ales, in this case predominantly Belgian by style. This one pretends to be a saison and boasts an enormous, off-white, rocky head (caught after gushing) that nevertheless quickly decreases, and a misty, warm orange blonde hue - so far indeed saison-like. Powerful yeasty aroma, caramel, bread, gingerbread, orange juice, lemon peel, vanilla, field flowers, jute, paper, white pepper... Again very consistent with the saison style. Taste citrussy with sharp spicy notes (pepper, ginger) and strong, tingling carbonation, orange peel, yeasty, soft sweetish malts, bit nutty, sweetish, finishing in a herbal and grassy, bit peppery hoppiness, bit harsh ending also due to the strong carbonation (not that surprising in view of the gushing). In short: though a bit over-carbonated, this brew has understood the essence of the saison style very well. Very curious to meet the other Extraomnes beers.

My Bottom Line:

Banana esters, hay-like cereals, bready yeast and herbal hops coalesce in this beautifully expressive and supple Saison.

Further Personal Perceptions:

-A dollop of foam decorates the misty golden.

-Mild tartness accompanies the noble hop finish.

-Citrusy fruitiness splashes the second half of each sip.

-All flavours are intertwining perfectly.

-The tap version was as good, if not better, than the bottled version.

Bottle and on tap at Brasserie 4:20.

Pale blond from draft, no foam, fermentation not okay with bad tones of yeast in the aroma. Light body, yeast, light hops, too yeasty, flat.
