Licet insanire. L’ingannevole apparenza.

Bottle from GBBF 2014 and drunk at home. Hazy paleish gold lasting white head with a few floaters at the bottom. Belgian yeasty estery aroma with quite a lot of bubblegum. Very estery. Some malt. Not great. Nothing like a tripel to be honest.

From a bottle. Pours cloudy amber, sharp fruity flavours with a fresh malty aroma, balanced and warming alcohol on the palate. Good drop.

UPDATED: MAR 25, 2015 Birra dal colore biondo scarico. Schiuma abbondante e bianca.

Tap at Ma che siete venuti Rome. Licht blonde beer. Very bitter for a tripel, Nice but a strong one and also a bitter one.

MartinT (9880) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - JUL 18, 2014
My Bottom Line:
This assertively bitter Tripel stands out due to its generous herbal hopping surrounded by citrusy and estery (banana) angles, all thriving within a creamy, effervescent mouthfeel.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A dollop of foam decorates the cloudy blond-beige.
-That mouthfeel is a mouthful. Looking forward to trying a bottle to see if it’s the same when bottle conditioned.
-Bready yeast flavours also participate.
-The herbal bitterness might be a tad too intense for what I like in the style.
-Malt flavours could be better defined.

Bottle and on tap at Ma Che Siete and at Open Baladin Roma.

0,33 bottle purchased in Rome and consumed in Kosovo. Dark golden and cloudy color, medium white foamy head. Sediments of the bottle bottom invade the glass and it takes a few minutes to let them settle. The nose starts with a floral bouquet and ends with some spicy notes (mainly pepper). Malt feel in the nose too. Alcohol dominant feel in the mouth. It starts with sweet malty notes and goes floral overall with a semi-dry end. Very balanced combination of notes of a very interesting and innovative Tripel reinterpretation. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

330 ml bottle from Birra +. Dark gold/pale sunrise orange, pretty hazy, not much of a head to speak of, just a thick ring of foam. Fruity and perfumy nose, mainly unripe bananas, and red apples, some marzipan cake, definitely dark fruits (raisins and figs), fruit esters and yeast. Quite thinner than expected and yes, there is a bold and sweet astringency, which imho works quite well. Slightly peppery, moderately fruity, with some toffe/burnt caramel presence. Warming, but the alchool is well hidden. Soft to average carbonation, almost medium body, slightly oily texture. A good and easy to drink sipper, as strange as that sounds.

UPDATED: JUN 27, 2014 Bottle 33cl. Pours a medium, nicely creamy, fluffy and bubbly head; colour is a bit hazy golden orange. Smells immediately pure belgian (can recon it from miles): dough, yeasts, spices, fruits, grain, small hint of cheese and alcohol. Taste followes the quite complex aroma: initially it’s very spiced, fruity and moderately sweet, giving then space to the hops with a gradually ascending (medium) bitter finish (bit of alcohol). Nice carbonation, and dry finish which give perfect place to the next sip. Complex and satisfying tripel, nicely balanced between sweet and that lest’s say original "bitter" notes. Those spices give this tripel a unique touch and a bit of saison hints. Original and appreciable
