1987 bottle. Hazy brown pour with no head. Still smells like cherry and sweet toned aromas. Sweet cherry, and not surprisingly a touch of oxidation, but still drinkable.

Kriek eylenbosch cuvee 1987 9€ follow a 35 year old brown with a 28 year old Kriek from a closed lambic brewery. I like fruit beers. 5% Pouring a deep brownish red. The nose is sweet candied cherries with a hint of a medicinal character.  Medium bodied with a smooth silky mouthfeel. Fantastic flavor, brandied cherries, mild tartness, candy syrup. Sweet but delicious. Wow. Looking at the other rates guess I got a good bottle.

Bottle. Thanks GEUS. I think this is medium 1980’s. Pours light red with a small, bubbly, off-white film head. Aroma has lots of cherry, almonds, raspberry. Low carbonation, fine dry and light creamy. Flavour has lots of fresh cherry, light tart, Brett, almost a bit oaky. A bit of caramel. Extremely fresh for its age.

Bottle at Kulminator. 1987 vintage. Almost clear deep murky brown liquid with a small off-white head. Aroma of almonds, dust/cellar, barnyard, cardboard and lemon. Taste is light to medium sweet and light sour with notes of almonds, cherries, barnyard and sugar. Medium bodied with low carbonation. OK, sweet and too old.

1987 Vintage. 330mL bottle, pours a clear amber with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of cherries and notes of oxidation. Flavour brings out heaps of cherries, cherry syrup, not really any oxidation, maybe a hint of cardboard. Amazing that this has held up so well. It’s maybe slightly more oxidized than the Framboise. Very enjoyable stuff for a 27-year old beer, even with the syrupy cherry.

1987 vintage 375 ml bottle from Kulminator. Muddy dark brown, flat pour. Aroma of oxidization, dusty, very light rotten cherry notes, long gone. Taste is really old, quite oxidized, cardboardy, old fruit. Palate is flat. Dead bottle.

Bottle (375 ml) @ Kulminator. Vintage 1987. Hazy dark amber with a light ring of off-white foam an no lacing. Aroma is of carboard, cherry syrup, hints of garbage juice and light sourness. Taste is almost not sour and there’s artificial cherries, carboard, oxidate and garbage juice again. Medium body, but watery. Almost flat. Sirupy mouthfeel. I’m not sure if this was good out of the gate, but right now it’s not even a fun experiment as some old lambics are even when they are not great. Really bad.

Cuvee Kriek special 1987. Sour cherry nose. Watery head, dark amber clear color. Sweet taste, cherries all over the place. Aging did not do good things to this.

Flaska från 1987 på kulminator. Sjuhelvetes körsbärsdoft. Godis snudd på. Helt flat. Lätt och läskande. Frisk. Nästan obefintlig syra. Lite lädertoner. Fantastiskt att den klarat dessa år så bra
