[620-20070916] Sample @ Feast of Fields (Hillsburgh, ON). Dark fruity plum aroma with hint of sweet grain and a malt background. Clear, amber brown body with a quick foamy off-white head. Dark bread yeast grains flavour. Medium-full body is a little raspy. Quite nice. JohnBarleycorn (537) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 7, 2011
Bottle. Attractive mahogany appearance. Aromas of hot chocolate, mild coffee and corn syrup. Burnt chocolate and sawdust flavours. Good in general but painfully average for a dark. Ontbeertaster (2360) - Ontario, CANADA - JUN 1, 2011
Bottle, pours brown, expected a bit more darkness, but the smell is nice, its of kind of chocolate yeastyness, Taste is similar. I found it to be very yeasty, hints of similar tastes to other f n m beers. but it worked for this offering, I enjoyed the taste of this beer solidfunk (9824) - Washington D.C., Washington DC, USA - FEB 23, 2012
Some smell of bitter hops and a follow through that has a hint of coffee on it, a nutty bitter. A medium body with an alright amber colour and virtually no head. Not bad. Bottle. HeistAlmighty (1156) - Saint John, New Brunswick, CANADA - JUL 10, 2012
341mL bottle. Pours a dark brown copper colour with a moderate off white head. Looks pretty filtered. Roasty caramel brown sugar, toasted bread aroma. Coffee and toast a bit more evident on taste. Hint of coffee. Body a little watery, but clean and smooth. Overall, something that would be easy to drink a few of.

341 mL bottle. Cola brown with a ring of head. The expected nuttiness and/or breadiness is there to a small degree in the nose, but not much else. It is quite mild, but not unappealing. It is there in the flavour as well, which isn’t too sweet. Body is quite decent. One dimensional, but nothing else wrong with this one. Would probably be good on tap or from a cask. (Rating #7695) DougShoemaker (3146) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 16, 2004
The tap handle @ The Bow&Arrow calls this Stone Hammer Dark, but a rose by any other....
Sweet malty aroma, chestnut, very small tan head. Caramel, treacle, butterscotch, with some woody notes. Nicely balanced, medium bodied, bitter finish. A very good offerring!

not much of an aroma, some faint malts. dark brown pour. some chocolate malts and light hops in the flavour. not bad Metalchopz (3764) - Cantley, Quebec, CANADA - JAN 5, 2016
Single can from the LCBO. Pours a clean, deep amber colour with a beige frothy head, good retention and creamy lacing. Nutty roasted malt aromas with hints of coffee, caramel and even chocolate. The taste is roasted malts, kind of watery, with notes of caramel and some decent hops in the finish. This creates a little grassy bitterness and dryness. Not bad, but missing a little balance.
