cask days 2013 @ beau’s oktoberfest, vankleek hill. very dark brown pour with a small light beige cap leaving some lacing. loads of chocolate, mostly bitter, few coffee notes - no vegetal whatsoever, hint of oatmeal sweetness and body - light to medium. moderate carbonation, bittering coffee finish. nice although coffee was rare and maybe a tad sweet for style. enjoyed it. neongolden (1649) - Linköping, Sweden/Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 7, 2013
(Cask at Victory Cafe, Oct 5 2013) Poured black with a ring of tan bubbles. Aroma relatively faint, chocolate, some roast, not much coffee. Flavour had chocolate, roast coffee, some slight dark fruit, slight roasted malt. Finish was fairly dry, bitter, roast coffee. Mouthfeel watery, not rich like an oatmeal stout should be, maybe the cask wasn’t at its best but this was unobjectionable and uninspiring. Lubiere (13911) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 4, 2013
A dark brown stout with a thin brown head. In aroma, sweet fruity chocolate malt with light grassy notes, coffee, OK. In mouth, a watery coffee stout with grassy and celery notes, OK. Cask at Beau’s Oktoberfest 2013. Frothmeister (799) - Ontario, CANADA - JUL 8, 2013
341ml bottle. Pours black with a one finger mocha coloured head. The nose is molasses, dried fruit, cocoa, coffee, and light caramel. Mmm. Medium bodied with a slight tang that lingers throughout until the finish, light sweetness, molasses, dried fruit, light smoke notes, with bitter coffee and cocoa in a lengthy finish. Could be a little heavier body-wise, but solid nonetheless.

Dark and rich, though the roasted caramel malts tend toward the burned in the aftertaste. Chocolate and coffee. Tan head and a nice black appearance. kevinsenn (2214) - Waterloo, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 17, 2013

On tap. Black pour, brown head. Aroma is sweet, mostly dark chocolate. Only a hint of coffee, some black cherry. Nice creamy full body. Smooth and sweet. Simple but satisfying. robinvboyer (4671) - Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 23, 2012
Jet black, brown head. Great roasted malt aroma with good dark, burnt coffee notes and some slight cocoa. The mouthfeel is a little thin for an oatmeal stout. The finish is solid, good bitterness, but the majority of the flavors drop off except for some light roast. Strangebrewer (1308) - Chatham, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 12, 2012
bottle. Poured opaque almost black like old engine oil with a mocha brown head. Roasty coffee aroma. Mouthfeel is a bit syrupy. Flavour is all roasted/burnt malts with bitter chocolate and coffee.
