A bit of a nutty, coffee aroma and a fairly average taste. Not bad by any means but doesnt stand out too much. The oatmeal is faint in the smell and taste, but it lurks in here somewhere. On cask at volos

whitecap (289) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 3, 2012
Bottle purchased from the brewery. (5% ABV)Pours dark brown, almost black with a fair light brown creamy head that quickly dissipates into a thin cap with good lacing. Aroma of coffee and herbs, licorice and cocoa. taste is mostly dry and mildly bitter. Palate is light carbonation and watery texture. Overall Its a great beer for Ontario standards. Couple of tweaks and this will really shine.

Bouteille de 341ml. Merci Patrick.

draught at the Wooly. Deep black colour, brown head. Aroma was all coffee. A little underwhelming, but I think it was served a little too cold. Taste is dark roast, coffee, a touch of licorice in the aftertaste. On a dreary rainy day, this was a very enjoyable beer.

huge coffee aroma, deep black pour with some tan head. flavour absolutely dominated by the coffee. overall not bad, and i generally like coffee stouts, its just this one was a little off-balance with the amount of coffee

I tried this beer on draught on November 18, 2011 at "Cest What" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer pours a sold dark brown with a medium brown foamy head. The aroma is mocha, coffee, and vanilla. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with mild carbonation. The flavour was coffee, chocolate, anise, and vanilla

This oatmeal stout poured a deep black colour with a beautiful, light brown, creamy head. To the nose there are scents of coffee, cocoa, roasted malt and cream. First sip was smooth and very coffee flavourful. Other flavours of cocoa, caramel and burnt toast aswell. Finish was very roasty with coffee flavours lingering forever.

On tap at Volo
Aroma solid aroma. Good clean coffee roast. Feel of dark barley and starch/ Ligh notes of hops.8-
Appearance brown-black with light beige creamy top. Proper.
Flavor and Palate : Frontal bitterness with hint of smoke. Dark roast right behind followed by lighter chewy character. Raw bitterness adds positive feel to already solid impression. Well done.
