Pint enjoyed at the Kick Off. Taps an opaque deep brown with a tiny tan surface film. The aroma has some nice toffee malts and vanilla mixed in with enticing coffee roast. The flavour hits right away with dry roast, mixed in with some sweet caramel and toffee malts, in good balance. Minor dry/bitter, astringent bite on the tongue in the finish that impressed me. The mouth-feel is somewhat full but lacks the richness of body I might expect in an oatmeal stout. Still, this is a very tasty beer and I’m glad I finally got to try it. I could session this all night as I think it’s one of the best stout’s produced in this province. AGAquino (704) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 1, 2009
Cask at Victory Cafe Cask Ale Festival. Nice dark mahogany colour with small head. Swee malt and coffee prominent. Balanced aftertaste. barncatmatt (2355) - Cambridge, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 15, 2009

UPDATED: NOV 28, 2011 Update: On tap at the brewery 14/11/11 - ricch black body, massive tan cap, even sweet-bitter-roasty character with a lightly dry finish. Top flight london styled oatmeal stout.
Dregs of the keg at the Kiwi:
Black and light shedding, puffy tan cap, good lace.
Cocoa and coffee dominate the nose, wafts of dark fruit and grass.
Thin bodied but coffee predominates flavor but there are some herbal fresh hop cone bittering balance. Finished clean dry and bitter with a tad of astringency.

341 ml bottle from brewery. Pours jet black, with huge tan head. Aroma is of mild coffee, taste is coffee, and roasted malt. Nice drinkable stout! GlennHendry (528) - OSHAWA, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 12, 2016
Inky black pour with a creamy tan head that dissipates quickly. A ton of roast coffee on the nose with dark chocolate and more roast coffee on the tongue. Very nice.
