mabel (9245) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 30, 2007
UPDATED: NOV 23, 2010 [449-20070726] Tap @ Rebel House (Toronto, ON). Medium malty aroma with a hint of fruity apple. Clear, golden orange body with a quick white creamy head. Medium hoppy flavour has toasted malt. Medium body. Nice blend if a little boring. (6/2/7/3/11) 2.9

[620B-20070916] Sample @ Feast of Fields (Hillsburgh, ON). Floral yeast aroma, like sweet mango. Clear, pale yellow body with a quick foamy white head. Fruity yeast continues in flavour. Light body. Still quite nice. (6/2/7/3/12) 3.0

[3383B-20100924] Cask. Mild ginger spice aroma has some odd plastic chinese noodles. Slightly hazy, light orange yellow body with a long-lasting bubbly white head. Kind of bland noodles. Medium body. Despite the odd notes, it does have balance and is fairly drinkable. (6/3/7/3/13) 3.2

Bottle courtesy of tupalev. Pours a clear bubbly gold with a spare white head. Mild aroma and flavour has a nice blend of sweet malt, grain and light hops. I found it tasted better cold and got a little harsh as it warmed up. For a Canadian Pilsener this was a nice surprise, it’s refreshing and quite enjoyable.

Better than most of Canadian lagers. It looked decent with rich gold color. Tasted nice, medium body. Some good aftertaste

Bottle (341ml). Thank you, tupalev!. Poured a clear bright gold with some post-pour bubbling and a decent foamy white head. Aroma mildly vegetal, some light sweet malt, very mildly fruity, a hint of fresh-mown timothy. Taste very mild - delicately hopped, cereal grainy without being coarse, still a hint of wheat or hay - very dry, starts slightly flowery sweet and finishes quickly and slightly bitter. Quite surprised - a great pale lager to have on hand for non-obsessive guests and still pleasant enough to enjoy on your patio.

Bottle: Poured a dark yellow color pils with a nice bug bubbly white head with pretty good retention. Aroma of crisp hops and nice floral malt are very enjoyable. Taste is quite refreshing with some lightly sweet floral malt and a nice crisp hops finish. Body is a bit too thin and I would have appreciated more carbonation but this is still a very enjoyable pils.

(Bottle) Medium, foamy, white head and a pale yellow body. Tiny sediment. Little carbonation. Nose of citrus, banana and spice. Nice texture, sweet corn and grassy flavour with bitter finish. Good.

typical grassy grainy nose. Flavour is much of the same. the finish is also grassy. the grassiness takes ovver, meh, not a fan.

Gold with white head. Light malt nose. Dry malt flavor, almost astringent...

Spab (4006) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 30, 2010
341 ml bottle from LCBO. Pours a clear, bright yellow/gold with small white head. Mild aroma of grass, honey and bread. Flavour is a plesant mix of grains and grass with a nice honey sweetness. Fairly light body. Nothing spectacular but pleasant.

probstblueribbon (3791) - Nepean, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 9, 2011
341 ml bottle from LCBO, served cold in a tulip glass.

App.: Clear light golden with a thin white head. Aroma: Starts odd with a sweet nutty note, then some pleasant cereals, decent grassy hops, toasted rice, a sort of wet ash note, a hint of fruitiness. Palate: Medium body and carbonation with a bit of the characteristic Pils smoothness. Flav.: Grainy, cereals, cooked cereal, a bit of grassy hops, a little straw, a little cardboard, a touch of vague fruitiness; dry with a little bitterness and a pleasant biscuit malt finish that is a hint metallic.

Drinkable but misses the mark stylistically and comes off a bit bland.
