Draught @ Hostex: My due diligence warning - tasting this the day after King’s Pils at the brewery is probably not going to bode well for Stonehammer. Pours nice - vibrant yellow, good carbonation, with a bountiful marshmallow white head. Aroma is of fruit, perhaps apple, with malt. Flavour is very dry with adequate hoppy bitterness, and splashes of sweetness to balance things out. Quite accessible as a pale lager, but not terribly true to style. More of a decent American lager than a pilsner. Not so bad as such but just not as clean or defined as say Neustadt Lager. Certainly lacks hoppy detail for a pilsner, there is some bitterness but it lacks the floral dimensions. Not a go-back beer for me. NeilinSeattle (32) - Seattle, Washington, USA - DEC 24, 2015
Solid pilsner. Great appearance but lacks the hoppy kick of a great pils. Would drink again but not seek it out daboskabouter (1470) - Fergus, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 5, 2002
I thought that this beer was mediocre at best. Obviously mainstream oriented. Faint hop bite to the body, but not a lot in the way of aroma or any kind of distinguishing characters. On par with something like Molson Export. Tessic (1152) - Brantford, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 3, 2006
This pilsner poured a really light yellow colour with a short lived bright white head. To the nose at first came a citrusy wine scent with a little cider thrown in. First sip was hoppy with a imediate bite of hops then a little corn syrup and citrus towards the end. I could also taste a little smoke thrown in. The palate was a lingering hoppyness that lasted quite a while.

draught. very light, golden (almost white) body with a small white head. light subtle grass aroma...nothing else. this is really bland and uninteresting - seems to be a trend this evening. light grassy hops also some astringent sweet grains. slight sour notes in the finish. sub-par. probstblueribbon (3791) - Nepean, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 9, 2011
341 ml bottle from LCBO, served cold in a tulip glass. Strangebrewer (1308) - Chatham, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 19, 2012
App.: Clear light golden with a thin white head.
Aroma: Starts odd with a sweet nutty note, then some pleasant cereals, decent grassy hops, toasted rice, a sort of wet ash note, a hint of fruitiness.
Palate: Medium body and carbonation with a bit of the characteristic Pils smoothness.
Flav.: Grainy, cereals, cooked cereal, a bit of grassy hops, a little straw, a little cardboard, a touch of vague fruitiness; dry with a little bitterness and a pleasant biscuit malt finish that is a hint metallic.
Drinkable but misses the mark stylistically and comes off a bit bland.
bottle. Poured slightly hazy and straw coloured with a thin white head. Lightly citrus, grassy hop aroma.Light, crisp, tight bubbled carbonation, dry mouthfeel. Kinda flat grassy flavour with a peppery dryness. joeycapps (1468) - Waterdown, Ontario, CANADA - APR 25, 2004
Clear gold. White head. Light, mildly biscuity aroma. Light, grainy feel. Sweet, biscuity flavour w/ notes of wet cardboard & grassy hops. Ontbeertaster (2362) - Ontario, CANADA - SEP 30, 2010
disappointing, tastes almost exactly like blue, pours light color and tastes pretty cheap
