UPDATED: DEC 18, 2005 Bottle, I was very happy for the opportunity to try this one - it had been the one that got away for a long timeUngstrup (37625) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - OCT 7, 2004
Raisiny rum and burnd aroma, slightly dusty.
Milk chocolate, liquor, caramel.
Light to medium body.
Long caramelly aftertaste.
[1996 Vintage, sampled 2004] A red-brown beer with no head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of cowberries. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel, but unfortunately a little over the top. The body is a little thin. rickgordon (3878) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - AUG 8, 2004
Bottle, 1996 vintage.
Dark brown, no head. The aroma is a bit doppelbock-like with a rye bread explosion with traces of dates. Flavour brings notes of sweet malt(vaguely) and strawberry and finishes a little dusty or cellary. madsberg (11770) - Søborg, DENMARK - AUG 2, 2004
Bottled 1996 vintage. Man was I happy to see this on the setlist, and it turned out to be a very nice one. Dark black/brown coloured. Not much head, but still an impressive sight. Dades and other fruits, malt and come cocoa notes in the aroma. Flavour is chocolatish with notes of fruits, malts and roastyness. Is light bitter in the end. This beer reminded me of Uighe Sticke, only I think I liked it slightly better. Very dark brown colored, almost like maple syrup. Aroma of carmel and noble hops (Saaz maybe). Well balance. Not watery body. Hops on the finish with a lingering carmel. Thanks so much for the opportunity of sampling this one Per! ante (3373) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - JAN 23, 2004
(Vintage 1996, sampled at Akkurat, Stockholm, Sweden). Dark murky brown, almost black. No head. Mmmmm. I can smell spices, sweet licorice, dark dried fruit, dark malt and maderia wine. Taste of dark unsweetened chocolate, spices, licorice, smoke. Fruity and vinous finish. What a beer! And it is a dunkel!!! jbrus (4990) - Delft, NETHERLANDS - JUL 13, 2003
The 1996 vintage, so already about 7 years old. Port and licorice aroma. Black color, small light brown head, fair lace. Sweet, licorice, nutty, chocolat, complex. Thinner than expected. Bitter finish with a light burn. Thanks Per! fiulijn (20516) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 7, 2003

Nut brown color, poor head. Strong nose: malt, molasses, phenol, grass. Quite sweet, leaning between the Madeira and the Fernet Branca; malt, caramel, light roasted malt and nice smokey note. Amazing! Complex. I love this one. Happy now, Per? ;o)
Very dark red. Sweet malty aroma, hay-like notes. Sweet malty body, finishes balanced between sweet and bitter.
