[1996 Vintage, sampled 2004] A red-brown beer with no head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of cowberries. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel, but unfortunately a little over the top. The body is a little thin. anders37 (27588) - Malmö, SWEDEN - DEC 17, 2007
Bottle. 1993 vintage. Pours a dark brown/amber color with a small off-white head. Sweet malty chocolate caramel and dark fruit aroma. Sweet malty chocolate and caramel flavor. Sweet malty finish with some hints of caramel. oh6gdx (26485) - Vasa, FINLAND - SEP 11, 2010
Bottled (1994 vintage). Quite much very dasrk ambery brown (close to black colour), small off-white. Aroma is toffee, mild madeiraoxidation, some mild chocolate as well as some mild smoked notes. Flavour is mild smoked notes, chocolate, some mild madeirawinelike notes as well as some dark fruits. Quite lovely. omhper (25949) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - JAN 14, 2002
This beer is somewhere in the borderline between a dunkel and a Baltic porter.
The 1996 vintage is dark brown, medium carbonation, almost no head, light bitterness and raisin aroma.

In the 1994 version you'll find less carbonation and more oak character than the 1996 version.
In the 1992 version, which is still holding up very well,
there is sherry and coffee flavours. Comparing to the 1994 version there are more raisin flavour, less bitterness and carbonation, and it is dryer.
Regardless of vintage it is an outstanding very complex beer, which is surprising given it's low gravity. Curse the devils that discontinued this fine beer, I've only got 17 bottles left of it now.
(Bottle 33 cl) Vintage 1996. Very black, opaque beer with a solid head. Very full-bodied and potent beer - I’m surprised it isn’t any stronger than 5,5%. Notes of smoke and coffee with some underlying sweetness. A very tasty and characterful brew. 081000

Nut brown color, poor head. Strong nose: malt, molasses, phenol, grass. Quite sweet, leaning between the Madeira and the Fernet Branca; malt, caramel, light roasted malt and nice smokey note. Amazing! Complex. I love this one. Happy now, Per? ;o)
17 bottles you say? I wasn't planning on going back up there soon but...damn. Deep burgundy, creamy, smooth body, lots of soft, luscious malts, drying in the finish, hint of spice. rlgk (18843) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - NOV 30, 2006
(1996 vintage) Bottle at Akkurat, Stockholm.
Ok, I am getting reall annoyed here at first. Falcon is a lousy brewery in many ways, but this really is incredible. Once they manage to make a great beer, the decide to stop brewing it. Cant believe it... Pours black, with no head. Somewhat vinous aroma, tar lots of raisins, malty, licorice. Very smooth, yet full of flavors. Oaky, fruity and with chocolate and tar notes. Thanks Raipe! Aroma of raisins, mämmi, sherry. Medium-bodied. Aged very well. Mämmi, raisins, licorice, dark malts in the flavor. Portwineous. Of course now quite watery, but aged well!
1996 bottle. Dark clear brown ale with a thin off white head. Maderized raisins and figs, with chocolate and roasted nuts. Almost no carbonation left, but good sweet malt and nutty notes. Light bodied, and a bit lifeless. Sampled with Mtl crew, April 16 2006.
