This beer is somewhere in the borderline between a dunkel and a Baltic porter.
The 1996 vintage is dark brown, medium carbonation, almost no head, light bitterness and raisin aroma.

In the 1994 version you’ll find less carbonation and more oak character than the 1996 version.
In the 1992 version, which is still holding up very well,
there is sherry and coffee flavours. Comparing to the 1994 version there are more raisin flavour, less bitterness and carbonation, and it is dryer.
Regardless of vintage it is an outstanding very complex beer, which is surprising given it’s low gravity. Curse the devils that discontinued this fine beer, I’ve only got 17 bottles left of it now.
(1996 bottle) Dark brown body topped by a small creamy off-white head that leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is moderately sweet, caramel, vinous. Taste is moderately sweet, caramel, chocolate, toffee, some nutty, butterscotch, raisin. Creamy light-medium body. Remarkable how well this beer, a dunkel, has held up. Thank you Jeppe for sharing. ante (3373) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - JAN 23, 2004
(Vintage 1996, sampled at Akkurat, Stockholm, Sweden). Dark murky brown, almost black. No head. Mmmmm. I can smell spices, sweet licorice, dark dried fruit, dark malt and maderia wine. Taste of dark unsweetened chocolate, spices, licorice, smoke. Fruity and vinous finish. What a beer! And it is a dunkel!!! Oakes (17854) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JAN 15, 2002
17 bottles you say? I wasn’t planning on going back up there soon but...damn. Deep burgundy, creamy, smooth body, lots of soft, luscious malts, drying in the finish, hint of spice. pilsnerrogge (2961) - Finspång, SWEDEN - JUN 4, 2002
UPDATED: JAN 17, 2009 Dark ruby colour, light brownish head. Roasted coffee aroma. Smooth n’ sweet coofee flavour.

UPDATED: JUL 27, 2004 Sampled was a 1996 vintage stored for two years in my cellar. The colour is dark redbrown, no head. The aroma is malty, raisiny and roasted. Some hops. Tones of sirup, grapes and dark bread. Complex. The flavor is even more complex. Raisin sweetness, port tones, mineral, cardboard, gingerbread, alcoholic tone and a tad sourish. Very little bitterness.
A 1992 vintage sampled at omhpers place still ahde the same redbrown hue.
Vinous aroma with notes of chocolate, raisin, fruits and petroleum.
Fruity sweet flavor with tones of chocolate and grapenotes like a german spätlese. It is dry and almost dusty.
I loved it, the others were a bit reserved and thought it had passed it´s prime.
Discontinued and deeply missed by me and lot´s of other people. fiulijn (20806) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 7, 2003

Nut brown color, poor head. Strong nose: malt, molasses, phenol, grass. Quite sweet, leaning between the Madeira and the Fernet Branca; malt, caramel, light roasted malt and nice smokey note. Amazing! Complex. I love this one. Happy now, Per? ;o)
This beer reminded me of Uighe Sticke, only I think I liked it slightly better. Very dark brown colored, almost like maple syrup. Aroma of carmel and noble hops (Saaz maybe). Well balance. Not watery body. Hops on the finish with a lingering carmel. Thanks so much for the opportunity of sampling this one Per! duff (5484) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - AUG 16, 2005
Bottle 1996 vintage. Much thanks to Jeppe for sharing this one! Nice sweetish brew, with a very soft, yet complex mouthfeel, smooth, round mouthfeel. All sorts of flavours come through, oak, nuts, wood and some raisiny fruit and chocolate, caramel and roast, nice long finish, very good stuff.
