Pours a great, clear chestnut brown with a fine, medium, steady, creamy, yellowish head. Aroma is mild, some caramel, sweet fruits, some apples and a touch of hops. Highish carbonation, fair, rather dry mouthfeel. Flavour is dry, some nuts, caramel, sugary sweet, some berries and very dry, lingering hoppy finish. Quite a nice dunkel.

Biggish beige head quickly goes coarse and shrinks. Dark red translucent body with carbonation. Fruity musty malty aroma with papery licorice notes. Unusual. Dry-sweetish peppery wild berry and chocolate taste (odd mix) with must earthy fruity notes. Soft, slick mouthfeel. Full body. Dryish caramelly licorice and earth aftertaste. Dryness lingers. Nice, smooth, and interesting. (0.33l bottle, Systembolaget, Charlottenberg.) larsniclas (7194) - Billdal, SWEDEN - JAN 31, 2009

Bottle (33 cl) from Systembolaget. Clear copper, medium off.white head. Caramelly and nutty aroma, quite mild, some vague hops, and I could not pick out the Cascade hops that are supposed to be there according to the label. Light to medium bodied, Well balanced, dry finish with a miderate bitterness. Quite good for a macro beer. pilsnerrogge (2987) - Finspång, SWEDEN - JAN 17, 2009
[2008 bottle] Pours dark amber with a firm head. Sweet and fruity caramel aroma. Sweet caramel flavour with a dry, herbal bitter finish. Not what it used to be. omhper (25565) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - JAN 17, 2009
UPDATED: MAR 9, 2009 Bottled. Pale orange-brown. Careful grapefruit aroma. Sweet and toffeeish with a crisp hard core in the fragile body. Finishes with a fair amount of bitterness. Though much more hoppy than the old Gammelbrygd the malt character is slightly reminiscent of it. While this feels more of an attempt to make money of the very high reputation of the Gammelbrygd they once killed than to actually brew the same beer I must say that I’m quite impressed with this beer for what it is. Falcon Gammelbrygd 2008. Tiny beige head. Brilliant ruby-brown colored body. A clean smell of caramel and sweetish malts. Watered down malt flavor, fairly sweet, with at touch of berries and caramel. Light-bodied. Short watery malt finish. Not a favorite. Ethereal (2421) - Los Angeles, California, USA - JAN 12, 2009
