Bottled (2008 version, thanks omhper). Copper colour, beige small head. Aroma is fruits, burnt sugar, some hops and sweet malts. Flavour is hops, fruits, wood and some nuttyness. Also some mild notes of stilton cheese came to my mind. omhper (25262) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - JAN 17, 2009
UPDATED: MAR 9, 2009 Bottled. Pale orange-brown. Careful grapefruit aroma. Sweet and toffeeish with a crisp hard core in the fragile body. Finishes with a fair amount of bitterness. Though much more hoppy than the old Gammelbrygd the malt character is slightly reminiscent of it. While this feels more of an attempt to make money of the very high reputation of the Gammelbrygd they once killed than to actually brew the same beer I must say that I’m quite impressed with this beer for what it is. Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of KimJohansen. Clear dark amber with an off-white head. Aroma of roasted malt and aroma hops. Medium body, roasted malt and a little nuts and licorice. Lightly bitter finish. An atypical but pleasant Dunkel. 130809 fiulijn (20806) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 2, 2009
Mahogany color, with red hue; big frothy head. The aroma is not very strong, but the caramel is nice, with a touch of cereals and hop. The mouthfeel is just a bit drier than expected, there is some caramel flavor, but it gets somehow metallic at the end. Better than the average Carlsberg. saxo (18945) - Højbjerg, Aarhus, DENMARK - MAY 14, 2009
Bottle. Nice head with good duration. Color is brown. Aroma and taste are roast malt, fruits, nuts, caramel and hops.
