Gr0ve (2176) - Oslo, NORWAY - FEB 15, 2009
330 ml bottle. Mahogany colour. Clear. Tall fine-laced light beige head that seriously clings to the glass. Spicy aroma with a hint of cinnamon and cardamom. Fresh floral hop aroma, likely a noble hop. Dark malty flavours with hints of raisins. That said this is definitely a lager and one can taste that. A great seasonal beer. Impressive complexity for a commercial brewery like this. Very drinkable.

[330 ml bottle, 2008 edition] Weak but nice aroma with hints of hops. The color is dark golden with a big bubble foam. The flavor is of caramell, hops and with a slightly bitter aftertaste

33 cl bottle I’ve kept in the fridge a while, originally from Systembolaget. 2008 version. BB 25 May 2009.
Sampled on September 4, 2011
Clear dark red color, tan head. Sweet, malty, lactic, berry scent. Sweet, fruity, malty taste. Smooth mouthfeel, cream aftertaste. Medium bitterness.
This one took teh age well, I like it a lot better than I did it fresh.

UPDATED: MAR 1, 2009 Pours a brown color with a nice beige head. It slowly dies, leaving quite lot of lacing on the glass. Aroma is quite interesting of caramel and spices. It got some weird "sweet" smell, almost like it could be a soda of some sort. Oh, now I know: pineapple! There is also some dried fruits. Taste is first of all quite sweet and malty with some hops in the background. It got a moderate bitterness with notes of a citrus/grapefruity hop note and pineapple. A bit spicey and quite fresh. Mouthfeel is quite filling for a lager, pretty smooth. Liquid is maybe a bit thin though. Drinkable? Yes! Probably the best beer from I have had from this brewery; Swedens biggest macrobrewery. It is quite fun they try to make something different than their massproduced, cheaply made lager beer.

faroeviking (10988) - Citizen above universe pendejo, FAROE ISLANDS - DEC 3, 2008
Bottle. Clear deep amber colour. Spiced sweet and malty bit dark fruity aroma. Good mouthfeel. The flavour has a good sweet deep maltiness with some spice, little dark fruit and caramel. Nice. Thanks yespr.

UPDATED: MAR 9, 2009 Bottled. Pale orange-brown. Careful grapefruit aroma. Sweet and toffeeish with a crisp hard core in the fragile body. Finishes with a fair amount of bitterness. Though much more hoppy than the old Gammelbrygd the malt character is slightly reminiscent of it. While this feels more of an attempt to make money of the very high reputation of the Gammelbrygd they once killed than to actually brew the same beer I must say that I’m quite impressed with this beer for what it is.

larsga (7567) - Oslo, NORWAY - FEB 1, 2009
Biggish beige head quickly goes coarse and shrinks. Dark red translucent body with carbonation. Fruity musty malty aroma with papery licorice notes. Unusual. Dry-sweetish peppery wild berry and chocolate taste (odd mix) with must earthy fruity notes. Soft, slick mouthfeel. Full body. Dryish caramelly licorice and earth aftertaste. Dryness lingers. Nice, smooth, and interesting. (0.33l bottle, Systembolaget, Charlottenberg.)

Ungstrup (37890) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - JAN 17, 2011

A Mes rate. 2008 bottle thanks to Alex. Nice dark amber colour with a thin beige head. Pleasant spicy malt aroma with some faint caramel and wholemeal bread. The flavour is almost the same but hints of cardboard and cereal. Decent enough but not fantastic.
