Bottle. The colour is dark wine red with a tint of brown. The beige foam is quite low. rarbring (2294) - Linköping, SWEDEN - DEC 5, 2012
The fresh smell is malty with hints of rye (crisp) bread.
The carbonation is very fresh without being too sharp.
The taste is somewhat burned with lots of malt; it is very balanced. There are notes of dark bread and a hint of raisins. The aftertaste got a growing clean bitterness and a little touch of alcohol.
A Christmas beer that is very easy to drink without abandoning its character. Very refreshing.
Aroma: The smell is mostly malty, bread, hay, a bit stuffy closet and old socks.Nisse666 (7524) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - NOV 28, 2009
Appearance: The beer is clear, dark brown with hints of read, a tan head with unevenly sized bubbles, good lacing.
Taste: Sweet burned notes initially, dark bread, roasted grains, a rather bitter finish.
Palate: Medium high carbonation, small bubbles, rather oily and a medium large body, a dry finish.
Overall: I must say that this beer was surprisingly good, less swetness and more taste than anticipated.

Yes, it was very fine Christmas brew: sweet, bready, filled with caramel malts. Nice seasonal. larsga (7567) - Oslo, NORWAY - FEB 1, 2009
Big brownish beige head goes coarse and shrinks. Barely translucent dark red body with carbonation. Roasty earthy caramel aroma with chocolatey notes. Delicate and balanced. Dry-sweetish roasty chocolatey caramelly taste with papery minty notes. Full-bodied. Smooth, buttery mouthfeel. Dry cinnamon and licorice aftertaste with earthy notes. Very nice. Much better than expected. (0.33l bottle, Systembolaget, Charlottenberg. Label says "Falcon Julöl".)

Bottle, 330ml from Systembolaget. A dark colour with a large frothy head. Nice dark berry aroma with malt and citrus. Flavour is more of the same, plenty of malt, a little hop bitterness in the finish. Carbonation a bit high for my liking. All in all not bad. Eructoblaster (4266) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - DEC 21, 2004
Dark brown body topped with an average beige creamy head that unfortunately dinishes quickly. Interesting malty aroma with brown sugar hints. Taste is relatively complex and is not oversweetened. Flavors of malt and hops with light woody and roasty hints. nice bittersweet finish. Quite decent. yespr (45868) - Copenhagen O, DENMARK - DEC 30, 2008
50 cL bottle as Falcon Julöl. Pours dark brown with a small light tan head. Roasted breadish malt aroma. Smooth caramel and breadish malt flavour for basis and with nice hops bitterness to counterbalance this. Lasting malty and bitterhops impression into the finish. Gr0ve (2176) - Oslo, NORWAY - JAN 8, 2009
500 ml bottle labelled "Falcon Julöl". Very dark brown, almost black, with red hues. Clear. Medium sized light beige fine-laced head. Neutral aroma with hints of plum and red berries. Slightly bready nose with some caramel. Light crisp hop bitterness. Soft texture with relatively little carbonation. Soft dark roasted malt flavours. Malty flavours with little sweetness. Hints of cookies and plum. Some dark caramel. Overall a nice Christmas beer with a good malty backbone. This is obviously not a Vienna. RuneStumo (2687) - Haugesund, NORWAY - FEB 6, 2009
