An amber gemstone with a Dragonfly trapped inside is a highly prized and extremely valuable possession. We want you to feel the same way about this amber ale.
Crafted using a blend of six malts and lots of American C hops it is deep amber in colour with a floral/citrus hop aroma upfront. The initial flavour hit is resinous, citrus and pine followed by a rich biscuit and caramel maltiness and finishing with a lingering bitterness.
Dragonfly tastes great on its own or with lightly spiced pasta dishes, pizza or strong cheddars. Serve at 4C to emphasise the hops or at 12C for a fuller bodied, fuller flavoured experience. No additives, no adjuncts; just four top quality, natural ingredients: malt, hops, yeast and water.
Specifications: Malts: Maris Otter, Crystal, Vienna, Biscuit, Melanoidin, Flaked Barley
Hops: Magnum, Cascade, Columbus, Chinook
IBU: 40
OG: 1.046
ABV: 4.6%

Note: Until April 2014, contract brewed at Tryst.

Can from Hippo Beers, Glasgow. Beer served in 6C, Duvel Glass. Hazy colour between yellow and red, little head. Aroma is hard to notice, it smells like vegetables, yeast and old oxidized hops. Taste is spicy, earth, hidden pears and apples, yeasty. Beer spent probably too much time in the shop, because all flavours are almost gone.

33 cl can @ home. BBE 12/2017.
Pours dark amber color with a large head. Caramel and malty notes on the nose, some orange and mandarin notes, mild hops. Flavor is bitter malty with subtle caramel sweetness, orange and some nutty tones. More fruitier and less maltier Amber Ale, which is a good thing for me.

Bottle from Oddbins Rosemount. Pours cloudy amber-brown with a thick beige-white head. Aromas of candy floss, grassy hops and fresh orange juice. Flavour is a mild bitter, warming malt with a clean citrus hop and barley sugar sweetness. A nice soft, light mouthfeel with a gentle sparkle. A refreshing, warming and gently tart amber ale.

Pint at the Windsor. Pours muddy amber, lacy off-white head. Aroma of toffee and rubber. Lots of malt on the taste, burnt toffee, something a bit odd and musty which is on the border of interesting or horrible. Overall good but something weird in there. Wouldnt session it.

Cask @ Victorian Craft Beer Caf, Halifax. Bright clear copper-amber with a thin head. Has a mildish but tasty enough tropical fruit aroma and taste with a hint of grainy malts involved.
