The village of Kippen, nestled at the foot of the Gargunnock and Fintry hills was once home to the largest Grapevine in the world covering an area of 5000 square feet.
This pale ale has an almost vinous flavour and aroma, provided by the choicest New Zealand hops. Seriously fruity, floral and citrus, this beer showcases the best qualities of two stunning NZ hops.
Dominant flavours: Floral, citrus, tropical, fruity, bitter. Grapevine tastes great on its own or with Indian curries, spicy pizzas or chorizo. Serve at 4C for a refreshing tropical citrus hit or at 12C for a fuller bodied, fuller flavoured experience. No additives, no adjuncts; just four top quality, natural ingredients: Malt, Hops, Yeast and Water.

Malts: Maris Otter, Vienna
Hops: Magnum, NZ Cascade, Motueka
IBU: 43
OG: 1.054

Note: Until April 2014, contract brewed at Tryst.

Clear, lively golden ale. In the aroma the fruit is slightly more dominant than the hope. There are flavours of hopes and fruit but its quite a floral beer on the whole. Balanced very nicely and very drinkable.

Dark amber, big fluffy white head. Body has a bit of creaminess to start off with but as this fades the low carbonation leaves it a bit watery. Reasonable hop presence yielding orange, grapefruit and pineapple. Malt is light and I think it needs more in the centre.

Cask at the White Hart tap. A clear orange amber coloured pour with a lasting loose sticky white head. Aroma is juicy citrus lemon and grapefruit, hints of caramel, biscuity malts, zesty grassy citrus. Flavour is composed of rounded semi sweet toffee malts, grassy citrus, zesty. Palate is rounded, medium sweet, decent cask condition, chewy. Solid

Medium offwhite head. Clear amber body. Fruity wooden dusty aroma. Dry-sweet resiny citric taste with roasty pineapple notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft, mealy mouthfeel. Dryish fruity roasty dusty aftertaste with citric notes. The combination of flavours doesnt quite work for me. The roasty goes poorly with the citric and fruity. (0.5l bottle, odd bins, Edinburgh.)
