I special beer indeed. All sorts of dark tastes blend wih the mint chocolate main flavour. I donít mind this, but itís more like a sauce than a beer. Would be fine of nougat ice cream Iím sure.

Draft. A pitch black beer with a brown head. The aroma has notes of elderflowers, roasted malt, and mint. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, soy sauce, and mint, as well as lighter notes of chocolate, leading to a dry roasted finish, where the mint note lingers.

On tap. Pours black and opaque with a tiny beige head dissipating pretty fast - eaten by the mint? The nose is completely dominated by mint - completely overpowering the roastiness. Medium body, roasty while the peppermint now appears somewhat medicinal leaving an impression of not so pleasant cough syrup. Some bitterness. Drinkable but not exactly a favourite. 211012

Pours black with a dark brown head. Aroma is minty chocolate, hints of dark sweet fruits, pretty mellow, smooth and sweet. A bit one sided but it smells good anyway! Taste is rich dark minty chocolate, fudge, roasted notes, hints of dark sweeter fruits, vanilla and overall smooth like an after eight ! Iím a sucker here.

UPDATED: OCT 23, 2012 Tap @ Mikkeller. Pours deep inky black with a small brown head. Aroma has lots of mint and dark chocolate, molasses, liquorice, a hint of dark fruits. You actually get the base beer, when you smell through the peppermints and chocolate. Taste is heavily sweet, lots of chocolate, thick syrupy feeling, chocolate ganache, a bit of roastiness in the far back. Then, in the finish the peppermint chocolates really come forward and leave a refreshing after taste of mint, which balances nicely with the hard roastiness in the finish. Definitely one of the best Jesus-variants of the evening.

Black with no head. Aroma of peppermint, tea, licorice and chocolate. Strong peppermint and chocolate flavour. Certainly lives up to the name, but itís very one-dimensional.
