Draught at Mikkeller Bar, Copenhagen. Cloudy amber, mid sized head. Aroma of salted grapefruit and lychee. Mid sweet with full body and rounded mouthfeel. Intense grapefruity hops, some mint. Extremely bitter finish. Very intense. humlelala (1375) - DENMARK - JUL 20, 2012
(on tap @ Fermentoren) Pours a hazy amber with medium, white head. Decent retention and lace. Aroma is earthy / leafy hops with a malty or resiny edge. Creamy texture, medium carbonation, full body and a long, warming finish. The flavour has predominabtly the malty backbone followered by the bittering and a bit of booze in the finish. I love the Vestkyst but with this one I'm confirmed that there are very few DIPA's that appeal to me. fiulijn (20427) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 27, 2012
Draught at Fairbar, Århus
Cloudy amber color with a nice head, compact an resistant; beautiful lace too. Lovely hop aroma, resiny, citrusy, with a earthy final. Very good body, round mouthfeel; excellent toffee flavor, with malt and caramel, quite sweet but not cloying; the hopping too is very good, plenty of piney resins, bitter oranges, mango, bit of earthy character. The final is very long and strong.
Freshness is the key. Power with yet great balance. A Double IPA to go!
