Gravity cask at CBC2012, from some old notes. Thick, jet black, thin tan film of a head. Aroma is pure coffee, fresh roasted beans. Huge mouthfeel, gentle cask carbonation. Flavour is fresh brewed coffee, then sweet and creamy stout then more bitter coffee. One of the most complete coffee beers I’ve tasted. kappldav123 (6110) - GERMANY - JUN 20, 2013
On tap at CBC2012. Beer in the glass deep black, small head. Heavy-malty aroma. Starts strong-malty, intense notes of coffee, more and more bitter-dry. Finish almost dusty-dry, earthy aftertaste. Nice beer! Scopey (14992) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 6, 2012
Tap at CBC May 2012. It pours deep brown, with a small light tan head. The nose is rich coffee, roasted malt, bitter chocolate and a touch of sweet vanilla. The taste is rich espresso, vanilla, dark chocolate, earth, roasted malt, underlying alcohol warmth and some dark fruit, with a bitter-sweet finish. Full body and fine carbonation. Flavoursome and well balanced. Leighton (21494) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 2, 2012
