3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at Fairbar. It’s a more our less black one, topped by a dense, light tan head leaving lacings. The aroma is more vinous and berryish than roasted. Still, there’s roasted malts, some coffee and chocolate, and notes of liquorice. It’s very dry on the palate, full-bodied and lightly warming. It feels lightly salty, with dark berries, liquorice, roasted malts and coffee. Lasting vinous finish with dried fruits and roasted malts and a warming touch. A nice one indeed, very unusual, but nice. 121111

Bottle 50cl a dark beer with medium copper head. Nose is on dark malt, roasted caramel, smoked touch. Aroma is on dark chocolate, smoked touch, ashes touch, licorice, between oily and creamy, very long roasted aftertaste, quite robust body, well done porter. Donno if this is related to the Beatles Hello goodby song, but I like this song too. madmitch76 (26413) - , Essex, ENGLAND - MAR 21, 2015

Opaque brown beer, good size pale tan head. Palate is airy, dry and has a fine crispness. Smooth malts packed full of chocolate, a kind of milkshake milk chocolate but not as sweet. Well integrated mild hop, little orange and mild bitterness. Finishes smooth and dry. Drinkable and interesting.
Bottle at home. High creamy good looking long lasting light brown head. Ooh black it is. Sweet roasted malt caramel cocoa coffee straw bisquit aroma, quite complex but good. Powerful liquorice coffee flavor with a nice hops bitterness abd a spicy note. Low carbonation, long dry and good finish. Alcohol noticeable but not too much of a good thing.
