Bottle via hopscotch: poured opaque with small lasting head. Heavy roast, liquorice, vanilla, and dark fruits. Good amount of espresso bitterness keeps it from becomingly over sweet. Oily rich mouth feel than is ashy and warming. Nice brew but a tad oxidized. Skinnyviking (9570) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - APR 14, 2014
Bottle at home. Medium high creamy good looking dark brown head. Through this blackness (does such a word exist?) not much light comes through. As a choccolate and beer lover I do indeed like the aroma of this beer. Sweet vanilla ads to the pleasure. With an alcohol percentage of 10 I am always prejudiced. In this case the brewer does, however, manage to balance the roasted malts, choccolate flavors, bitterness and alcohol in a supurb manner. Low carbonation and a long finish ads to the pleasure. I guess it is a proper thing to end this rating with a WOW. tfredvik (1948) - Oslo, NORWAY - MAR 12, 2014
Another of these black, gorgeous, thick and viscous-looking imperial stouts that just screams "I’M INTENSE!". The medium brown head is quite small though, but it leaves some lacing and it never disappears. The aroma is very strong, sweet and gently roasted, with incredibly massive amounts of sweet chocolate it all forms chocolate can possess: milk chocolate, chocolate sauce, sugary cocoa, O’Boy powder and all that’s sweet and chocolatey. Amazing! The roasted and strong flavours are even better: again total chocolate overdose, but now the well integrated alcohol plays along and creates liqueur filled chocolates in addition to all the milk chocolate notes. Also a nice vanilla touch in the back. The taste is heavy sweet and heavy to moderate bitter. Unusually thick and creamy mouthfeel, this is like drinking chocolate sauce! The carbonation is very soft, but it fits the beer well. Absolutely stunning! Boutip (6380) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - FEB 17, 2014
[33 cl bottle, enjoyed 3 months before BB date, from Vinmonopolet Vika, Oslo]
Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a large deep brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of chocolate malt is pretty dominant with light dry raisins notes also perceptible. Taste is dominated cocoa with deep creamy black chocolates notes with some light dry roasted malt notes. Light lactose notes are also doing a pretty good job of offsetting some of the dryness. Body is full with super nice creamy body with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. I wasn’t expecting much since I couldn’t read the Danish label but very enjoyable nonetheless. Gr0ve (2177) - Oslo, NORWAY - FEB 15, 2014

Bottle at home. Pours a pitch black colour with a creamy, coffee-brown, medium head. The aroma is dominated by roasted tones with both sweet and dark chocolate, coffee, wood, lactose, nougat and some alcohol in the end. Very nice! More chocolate in the flavour at first, and then fading into a roasted and espresso-like finish that lingers. Incredibly soft and rich mouth feel, and has a medium bitterness. A wonderful and well-balanced imperial stout with a nice chocolate touch. A very pleasant beer experince.
