UPDATED: FEB 9, 2014 2013-09-14: 8,4,8,4,17 = 4.1. Bottle courtesy of idiot Pentaz. Pitch black and a generous pour generates a small ok lasting brown head. Fudge, vanilla, cocoa, bitter chocolate. Long, long taste with roasted notes taking over for a long finish with quite some bitterness. Very gentle and soft mouthfeel.

Re-rate. At 40 DKK this is a real treat. So much chocolate and no alcohol presence. I like my imperial stouts the same way I like dicks: big, fat and black.
Color : pitch black / oil with a dark beige/brown creamy head
Aroma : chocolate, lactose, alcohol, dark malts and something that reminds me of soy sauce, salty
Taste and palate : Quite viscous and syrupy, sweet but not cloyingly sweet, chocolate, coffee, licorice, roasted malts, a bit salty, milk, alcohol
Finish : Long and bitter with delicious dark chocolate and licorice
A really great imperial stout.

Bottle from Vinmonopolet, Kvadrat. Pours black as engine oil, with a big creamy dark tanned head. Aroma of chocolate, liquorice, toffee, hard roasted malts. Creamy and filling mouthfeel.Taste feels like heaven for a sweet tooth, thick sirupy malts, filled with chocolate and the best liquorice there is, pleasant light bitter and roasted end. Note to self, buy more for christmas...

Bottle. Pours pitch black with a finger thick creamy and brown head. Aroma is sweet with chocolate and lactose, as well as some burned malts. Very balanced, and never too sweet. Full creamy body with soft carbonation. Flavour is sweet with chocolate and molasses, as well as tar, leather, dark fruits and wood. Nice sweet finish. KnutAlbert (6753) - Oslo, NORWAY - AUG 8, 2013
’Motor oil pour, then the darkest tan head I have ever seen. O’boy milk chocolate aroma, vanilla. On the other hand, the flavour and aroma is all additives. Pleasant, but I admire brewing more than blending. Gorm (1899) - Sandnes, NORWAY - AUG 5, 2013
Dyp svart farve med kremet mørk beige skum. Lukt av malt, kakao og kaffe. Smak av malt kakao, vanilje og kaffe. Kremet munnfølelse. Desertøl. Vinmonopolet. ClubGonzo (5670) - Bergen, NORWAY - JUL 31, 2013
Bottle from Vinmonopolet in Valkendorfsgate, Bergen. Pours a majestic pitch black body crowned with a large, light caramel-colored creamy and long-lasting head. Nose is cocoa, dark chocolate, lactic creamy notes, coffee and hints of black currants and alcohol. Taste is cocoa and dark chocolate in the front, then milky licorice, dark berries, vanilla and hints of wood and leather come later. Loads of complexity. Lingering cocoa finish. Full, thick body with a lovely creamy mouthfeel - now this is what puts the "imperial" in "stout"! Very impressive from Fanø, and by far the best beer I’ve had from them so far. aleksander9 (1789) - Oslo, NORWAY - JUL 18, 2013
