Poured into a perfect pint. "Natasha Rocks America" on lable.
4.0 A: Black color. Two and a half fingers of frothy light brown head. Retention is good with lots of lacing left.
3.75 S: Hoppy as hell. Floral, citrusy, piney, herbal, and earthy in that order. The hops pretty much overshadow everything else, but you can pick up on a solid roastiness, a touch of chocolate, and hints of rye. Not a huge fan of hoppy stouts, but this one at least smells good.
3.25 T: Like every other hoppy stout out there, the hops don’t mesh well with the dark, roasty flavors. Jumble of roast, hop bitterness, citrusy hoppiness, chocolate, herb and flower, and rye. Everything is out of place with everything else. It’s slightly more palatable than most hoppy stouts, so I gave it a minor boost.
3.25 M: Medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Not as creamy as I’d like, which is a shame since it could easily be that way.
3.0 D: Not a huge fan. I want my hops in IPAs and my roasted barley in my stouts. I wish brewers would cut back on "being creative."

On tap at Porter. Pours black with a dark brown head that dissipates slowly to the edges and laces. Aroma has a lot of dark roasted malts with a bit of pine and dark grains. Flavor has some creamy dark grains but is quickly taken over by strong roaste malts, some pine notes and a bit of chocolate.

Aroma is rather nice with licorice, dark chocolate, some ashy notes and coffee. Flavour has salty licorice, some ash and coffee notes. Really salty finish with distant peaty notes. The salt is trying really hard to ruin the show, but still this is good stuff. Very close to an imperial stout.

UPDATED: MAR 21, 2013 010213. Tap at Konttori, Tampere. Pours black with a nice head. Aroma roasted malts, nuts. Dry slight ash on the tongue. Full palate. Not Bad. olio (10552) - Tampere, FINLAND - FEB 1, 2013
Draught @ Olutravintola Konttori, Tampere.
Pours pitch black color with a small, thick beige head. Aroma has lots of roasted malts, some hops, citrus fruits and dark chocolate. Some mild lactose notes and vanilla too. Flavour of roasted malts, caramel, dry dark chocolate, some mild hints of coffee and fruits. Dry and somewhat harshly bitter palate, maybe a bit too harsh for my taste. Although as the beer warms up a bit the bitter hoppiness starts to sit nicely. Nice.
