At Copenhagen Beer Festival. ABV was listed as 7.5%. Dark brown colour. Aroma and flavour of coffee, vanilla and cinnamon, well balanced. Very enjoyable - a beer I’d be happy to drink at the Yuletide. Well, at any time of the year, actually.

Bottle. Dark brown, small to average and mostly diminishing light brown head. Moderate, malty and sweetish aroma, some caramel and spiciness (aniseed and coriander), faint coffee. Body is medium, malty and sweetish flavor, spiciness (aniseed and coriander), some fruitiness and roastiness. Finish is average, malty and sweetish, spiciness and some roastiness. Sweetish porter with aniseed spiciness.

50cl, at 7.5%Vol, as Fanø Julebryg, Danish brew, from Den Bierzolder Heule, complex Porter, spicy and roasted, yet not too heavy, balanced, hazy, good head, good X-Mas brew

Draft at Makke. Dark maroon, huge tan head. Aroma of dark chocolate, coffee grounds. Taste is very smooth roasted coffee and dark chocolate. Nice.

[email protected], label said 7.5%. Cardamom, mint, malts and prune aroma. Opaque, light brown head, very nice lace. Mocha, light sweet, cardamom, light bitter, roasted finish. Dryish, very soft mouth feel. Very much X-Mas, technically very well brewed but I’m not a big cardamom fan.

Tap at Ma Che Siete Venuti a Fà in Rome. Labeled as "Julebryg 2010 Coffee Porter." The pour is deep ruby to near black with a massive, light tan head with insane retention and massive lacing. Aroma is muted, coffee, cocoa, spice, mace, hazelnut, wet cinnamon. Taste is spicy, Kahlua, creamy coffee, rich chocolate, Godiva liquor, chocolate milkshake. Soft, creamy palate. Incredible. One of my favorite porters of all time.

Huge dark-beige head over very deep red-brown beer. Chocolate nose, mixed with fresh vegetable aromas (cucumber,...), later coffeebean-sweets. Hints at iron. Not very spiced in the nose. Spices arrive in the finish of the taste: coffee, mocha and black chocolate come first. Again coffee sweets. As said, spices are there in the finish, but difficult to determine which - apart from a peppery impression. Cinnamon I might well believe. Well-bodied, quite slick, some warming feel. Good winterwarmer.
