FatPhil (16953) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - DEC 21, 2010
500ml bottle - at ChrisO’s - thanks!
5 Sweet sticky aroma, christmas spices unsubtle - a bit worrying.
4 Deed brown, off-white head
7 Initially sweet, but fills out with a bit of spice. Quite bold, but also balanced.
4 Soft palate, crisp carbonation. Wow - what a lovely chocolate cake finish.
15 ARoma initially seemed too sweet, but the taste is so full, and the finish is beautiful

20-NOV-2010, tap @Ekstra Bladets Juleølssmagning. Brown, beige head. Roasted with a lot of coffee. Quite spicey, dry and long roasted taste. Fantastic X-mas brew. This is how I like them. No need to make them all sweet.

Plovmand (8595) - Grindsted, DENMARK - NOV 18, 2010
Bottle. Pitch black pour with a creamy tan head. The aroma is chocolate, coffee, light spices and hard roasted malt. Mainly coffee and hard raosted malt in the flavour with some spicey notes and caramel. Very nice.

Rune (13383) - Tromsø, NORWAY - NOV 17, 2010
500ml bottle, 7.5% ABV, thanks to Skinnyviking. Oily pour revealing a completely dark body under a dense, two finger, beige-brown head. Dark roasted malts to the nose. Flavoured with roasted malts and Christmas spices like cinnamon. A nice malt-accented Yuletide brew (hotel room, Copenhagen 06.11.2010).

ClubGonzo (5685) - Bergen, NORWAY - NOV 14, 2010
Tap @ Ølbaren, Copenhagen. This one just looks gorgeous: big beige head, deep brown body. Aroma is roasted malts, dark chocolate with hints of spices and peat. Taste follows suit, with some smokey tones and spices countered by a fruity layer of almost aerial, fluffy hops. Palate is full-bodied. This is a solid Christmas brew, just the way I like ’em - dry and balanced, yet spicy. Very nice.

Jaksmart (454) - Aarhus, DENMARK - NOV 12, 2010
Bottle. Black pour, small brown head. Aroma has lots of cofee, roast and chocolate along with sugar and dark fruits. The coffee and chocolate are particularily prominent and entirely enjoyable. Taste is alike with lots of coffee and chocolate. Also some lovely spices and a nice sweetness to balance the bitter coffee.
