Bottle at home. Has a pretty hazy black colour with a light brown small head. Lots of roasted malt in the aroma along with coffee beans, ash, leather, dark wood and anise. The flavour is also dominated by a wonderful roastedness with anise, coffee, leather, spices and dark berries. The mouthfeel is lighter than expected but slick. Light bitterness. A powerful and balanced ale with a nice spicy touch. lusikka (7813) - Tampere, FINLAND - JAN 8, 2013

Pours a black colour with a white creamy head. Aroma roasted malts, licorice and tiramisu. Flavour of roasted malts, licorice, chocolate, bread and tiramisu again. Medium bodied, slick mouthfeel and a malty, chocolate, vanilla finish. Good.
0.5 L bottle, sent me from Vinmonopolet Nettbutikk. Black with ruby highlights. Mostly diminishing choco head. Fresh roasty light sour bready malt aroma. Subtle, well balanced spice tones. Dark tinned fruit, too. Soft and smooth in the mouth. Invitingly sweet and rounded malt flavor. Spices merge well. A light peppery bitterness underneath. Healthy body. Gently sourish-sweet, spiced and roasty finish. One of the finest holyday ales I’ve had this Christmas.
