Pours slightly transparant black with a long lasting light brown head. The smell is very earthy and caramel malty. Not very burned.. Hops fairly present in a not-so-bitter-or-fresh way. Taste: Decent chocolate and some weak christmas specialities. A little licorice in the end. Quite watery palate and taste as well.. Quite nice, and hides the alcohol very well, but it is a little boring. RasmusOtt (2733) - Aarhus, DENMARK - NOV 12, 2012
Pours kinda black with a bright brown head. Aroma of earthy roasted malts, vanilla, sweet chocolate, cocoa, sweet christmas spices, caramel and brownish powder sugar. Taste of gently roasted malts, earthy, chocolate, weak hops in the background, a bit watery and spices. Carries 7,5% very well. Easy drinkable but a bit boring in the long run. ken1 (1982) - DENMARK - NOV 8, 2012
A farely chokolatelike flavor and some bitterness. Brown in color with a white head. humlelala (1375) - DENMARK - NOV 7, 2012
(on tap @ BrewPub) Pours black with big toffee head. Good retention and lace. Aroma is star anise, roasted malt with hints of coffee. I’ve begun to realise I loathe spices in beer. Oily texture, soft carbonation, full body with a roasted bitter finish. The star anise permeates the smell and taste of this beer and does not play well with the roasted malt to my palate. visionthing (5289) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - NOV 5, 2012
50cl bottle from Vinmonopolet, Grorud. Pours black with a small beige head. Malty aroma with dark chocolate, spices, vanilla, coffee and roasty notes. Sweet and desserty, a bit too sweet for my liking, but quite pleasant. Alcohol is well integrated and it’s fairly well balanced. Full body and quite Christmassy. Nice liquid dessert! (2012-11-03)

Dark hazy brown body and a off-white small creamy head. Aroma of coffee, roasted malt, coriander, raisins. Creamy full body. The taste is medium sweet and has a light bitter finish. Davros (3132) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - MAY 13, 2012
Pours black with a large, fading dark tan head.
Nose shows cocoa, milk chocolate, soft spices, coffee. Tempting.
Similar cocoa and coffee flavours, along with faint Christmas spices (nutmeg? ginger? cinnamon? not sure...). Seems a bit cloying though.
Carbonation is too high. BeerChaser0078 (909) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - MAY 9, 2012
Bottle 7.5%. Pours dark brown with red highlights and a short, foamy tan head that lasts a little while. Aroma is fairly roasty with notes of coffee, seaweed, raisins and dark chocolate. Flavour is also pretty roasty but doesn’t have much dark fruit, otherwise much the same as the aroma with a little added grass and spice. Medium to full bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and a lingering roasty, bitter finish. This is a perfectly acceptable Scandanavian porter that somehow manages to be both nice and easy to drink yet also a little boring. Quite sessionable all the same.
