UPDATED: JUL 23, 2017 Dark brown to black with small to medium off-white head; aroma is malty, roasty and a little smokey, cacao, dark sugar; taste is medium sweet, roasted malts, medium bitter finish; texture is thick and creamy with medium carbonation DraftDodger (1531) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - JUN 1, 2017
Copenhagen 1/6 2017. 50 cl bottle from Meny. Usual Fanø design with corn, hops and an Anchor in brown on the label. Pours hazy dark brown with small light beige head. Settles as flimsy and patchy thin layer of foam. No lacing to speak of. Aroma is sweet and roasty. Dark roasted malts, brown sugar, syrup, chocolate and a little spicy sour bitter touch of coffee. Soft carbonation and slightly thick palate. Flavor is quite sweet and a little bit sugary. Followed by light coffee bitterness. Aftertaste is sweetish. Pleasant and easy to drink brown ale, which will not leave a lasting impression. Desverger (11472) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - NOV 13, 2016

On tap @Grincheux, Strasbourg 01/2015. Appetising creamy brown pour. Smooth candy bar nose of milk chocolate and roast, milk stout sedate with a refined nuttiness. Wiener Melange and Irish Coffee sans burn. Creamy clean mouthfeel transporting near-stout roast maltiness, short of Irish cream butterscotch with a good lick of liquorice. Maybe lacks some punching power, but overall a suave composition of complementary, natural mild flavours overall evoking dessert fantasies of striped Dame Blanche ice cream.
