Idiosynkrasie (7318) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - AUG 29, 2014
330ml bottle. Jet black colour with late awakening, small, thick, creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, dark brown head. Intense, sweetish, dark malty aroma has a nuttily touch, notes of treacle, molasses, vanilla infused chocolate (ice) cream, liquorice, a touch of lovage. Taste is initially dry, roasty dark malty, finds its way over tarmac and shoe polish to woody and smoky, a moderately sweet liquorice basis is present throughout; some warming alcohol in the finish. Oily texture, sticky palate.

Bottle (330 ml). Black with a huge thick dark brown head and little lacing. Aroma is an interesting mix of vinous notes, roasted malt, liquorice and dark chocolate hints of smoke. Taste is also of roasted malt, dark chocolate, vinous/fruity notes, light smoked and light bitterness. Medium/full body. Moderate carbonation. Slightly vinous mouthfeel. Light alcohol warming in the finish. Interesting because it’s not a sweetness bomb and there’s a nice balance between the vinous and roasty presence. Quite tasty.

Bottle, shared with BBGTC. Pitch black body, small light beige head. Nose is unripe banana, alcohol and roasted malts with hints of oak and licorice. Taste is licorice, dark chocolate, leather, dark sugars, caramel and hints of walnuts and coffee. Medium to full body, soft to medium carbonation.
