bottle poured into tulip glass. La Cave du Vin in Cleveland had this classifyed as a saison.
a: deep amber/blackish color, slight head that reduces to light lacing. Minimal carbonation.
s: very spicy aroma, a hint of roasted malt
t: i have never had a beer like this. Very interesting taste. Black Licorice flavor dominated the mouth with spicyness adding complexity. Very nice. Alchohol is slightly noticable, but provides a nice warming sensation
m&d: for an 8% ABV brew, it is very drinkable. Medium to light bodied,
750ml bottle pours dark, dark brown with a reddish tinge. Aroma carries a funky barnyard nose of black pepper, cherry, raisens, molasses, maybe fruitcake. Flavor is typical Fantome funkiness, woody, barnyard hay, yeasty spice, some dark syrupy sweetness. Peppery finish with vanilla and caramel notes lingering. Another fantastic beer from Fantome. Bottled. Pours hazy, deep amber with an average off-white head. Aroma of chocolate and dark fruit notes amoung with some spice. Sweet flavor that ends up dry and a little sour. Backlog rate from 27/11/13, tasting at RichTheVillan’s. Murky dark greyish brown, sharp funky notes on the nose. Slight sweetness, some roast flavours, spice, brett funk and acidity, some citrus. "Pours slightly murky brown, lighter than the average porter. Slightly tart fruity aroma, though some chocolate and roasted malts are in there too. Prickly feel. No sign of abv. Flavor is pretty well balance between light funk and English brown type matinees. Nice enough though I was expecting more."

This was poured into a snifter and a tulip.
The appearance was a hazy burnt orange to somewhat off color brown. One finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute.
The smell had some burnt off barnyard funky soured oranges.
The taste was basically the same.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with not much sessionability to me as it’s just too damn leathery and tart and sour.
Overall, I’m hoping my abuse from this brewery is in sight but it’s not.
