3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Interesting! First time I have tried something that wasn’t on rate beer already.
My supplier Dave recommended I tried this because he hadn’t yet, and he had several in stock, so here goes!
Amazing smell as the cap is taken off and the cork pulled. Rich active spice, coriander, pumpkin, apricot and bonfire smoke!
Pours apricot/cloudy apple juice colour, a head does form (see pic) but quickly dissapears. No lace on glass at all, infact doesn’t stick to the glass in any way, looks like I hadn’t drunk of the glass at all when I was done! Plenty of sediment in bottom of bottle, will try not to distrurb that as I get further down the bottle.
Flavour (at around 12’C) is very different, smoky alcoholic Belgian woody character, but with no hop character that I can find. No one flavour dominates, it is well balanced, but odd. You can’t put your finger on it, maybe it’s the lack of hops that’s weird, but you gotta keep sipping to find it. It does taste higher than 8% and as it was bottled in August and I am drinkin it 2nd November maybe it is too young yet, will maybe stash another bottle and try in a year or so. Will leave it a while and try colder anyways, but I like to try beers warmer as you get so much more character though it having more energy.
Many thanks for this beer to tderoeck. Po wyjeciu korka po prostu tryska jak fontanna. Rozlalo sie sporo na stolik. Piana poczatkowo szybko rosnie barwy zoltej by jeszcze szybciej opasc, silnie metne o kolorze brudnej pomaranczy. Aromat naprawde niezly woda kolonska i kwiaty wrzosu. W smaku zupa dyniowa, miod wrzosowy, biszkopty namoczone w jajkach i burgundzkim polwytrawnym winie. No i wszech obecne tu pomidory, wlasnie dojrzale pomidory. Bardzo ciekawe i nietypowe piwo, na minus obecny smak alkoholu co prawie zawsze daje sie doskonale ukryc w belgijskich piwach, tu tego sie nie udalo. Thanks Tim for this Extreme beer. bu11zeye (13029) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - NOV 10, 2016
(750ml bottle) Pours a clear golden body with a small white head. Aroma of earth, herbs, grass, bubble gum, and straw. Flavor of herbs, toffee, earth, grass, sulfur, and yeast with a dry finish. Palme (4811) - Bergen, NORWAY - JUL 5, 2016
0.75l capped and corked bottle from Etré. It’s a gusher! Managed to trick a friend into opening it so no worries. It pours a near murky pumpkin-colored body with a small quickly sidesticking off-white top. Not to horrible on the nose really. It" sweet and quite yeasty. The spicy pumpkin is really present, as is sour old leafs and grass with dirt, ripe almost rotten banan and potatoes. I actually find it somewhat interesting. It has a below average mouthfeel and a light oily mouthfeel. Spicy pumpkin and yeast straight up on the flavors. A bit "murky" on the flavors as well I think. Light astringent as well. Softly old-lemony sourness and a nut-sweetness in the finish. A strange creation, but it’s not to bad actually. 25.01.2013 after4ever (8025) - Mukilteo, Washington, USA - APR 25, 2016
750, corked and capped. Thanks, M! Pours all over the table as soon as you pull the cork. Murky dark brown with a thin white head. Tangy basement nose, stale cereal. Watery thin body, carb is shot. Basement and irritation on the mid palate. This one was a loss. wlajwl (6876) - Quad Cities, Iowa, USA - APR 23, 2016

0,75 bottle purchased in Rome at Johnny Off L. store, shared in Kosovo. Pours sunny orange color, quite clear, little foam. Nose: ripped fruit, caramel, green pepper. Mouth: watery, caramel, cereals, syrupy, velvety bitter finish. Koelschtrinker (20591) - Köln (Cologne), GERMANY - APR 5, 2016
Erfrischender, süß-säuerlicher Antrunk. Eher milde Hefigkeit, trocken, rund. Später würziger, vergleichsweise spritzig, langer süßlicher Nachhall, trocken. Gut. 7/9/9/9/11/9 madmitch76 (25004) - , Essex, ENGLAND - FEB 1, 2015

Hazy amber beer, tidy pale cream colour head. Palate is smooth and a little soft. Very fine carbonation. Smooth and very sweet malts, little cream. Trace of smoke. A skewed funky fruitiness on the back end before a smooth creamy finish. Odd but not offensive.
An odd duck, somewhere between a BSA and a saison. Earthy with some farm character but also some alcohol and some fruit and yeast zestiness like a strong Belgian. Overpriced, but pretty nice. beerguy101 (5360) - Newark, California, USA - DEC 25, 2014
Tasted at the Triple Rock Sour and Barrel Aged Fest on 2/10/2013. This saison pours a cloudy orange gold color from a 750ml bottle. Medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity and sweet, orange and peaches. A medium bodied saison. The malts are fruity and sweet, lots of orange and peach flavors. Hops are herbal and earthy, Nice balance. Good carbonation. A touch sweet and citrusy, sort of orange juice like. Nice beer. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is sweet.
