Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with a fluffy white head and a hazy golden body. Good lacing. Aroma is of citrus, herbs, lemon grass, oregano, pepper, butter, dandelion and grass. Taste is very spicy with pepper, flowers, herbs and weeds. Not the easiest thing to drink a lot of. Light bubbles and dry.

UPDATED: JAN 18, 2009 My Bottom Line:
This expectedly idiosyncratic Fantôme ale sports a diligent union of oregano and herbal hops in a plump and soft body where citrusy tartness and doughy yeast combine to achieve a quenching pint.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam thins to a ring on top of the turbid, opaque dark orange.
-The spices are balanced out by the cushiony cereals and the yeasty tartness.
-Carbonation is quite low, which was surprising.
-Oregano is quite present at first, but then the doughy yeast and tartness take control, letting the oregano make a polite comeback before the finale.
-This is just wonderful with a fresh salad of greens and vegetables.
-Some light bitterness is gotten from the hops and oregano.

Boutip (6533) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - DEC 18, 2008
Bottle: Poured a bright orangey color ale with a very light foamy head with no retention and some lacing. Aroma consists of a strange spice mix with some distinctive floral notes. Taste is one incredible mix between some floral notes with some barnyard notes as well as light sourness with a strange mix of spices. Full body with low carbonation and no alcohol is perceptible. I must admit I had lost faith recently in some Fantome beers but this just confirmed that they can still create some totally unique experience while retaining some drinkability. I can’t say that I tasted the oregano thought.
