[Bottle #13 in the Kolding Blindtasting, 20th June 2009]
Pours hazy, pale yellow with a nice, creamy, white head. Super lacings. Aroma has pepper, other spices, brett, sweet malts. Just wonderful. Low carbonation, fine mouthfeel. Flavour is dry, quite spicy, light grassy, pepper and grainy, bready malts. Very nice, just sad that the flavour doesn’t quite live up to the aroma.
me mates thought it like a tasteless cider. Beige yellow. My mature tastebuds found it a very good yeast preparation. In the yeast peach, lemon, celery. Good with spicy veggies. deyholla (11609) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - JUL 27, 2010
Bottle shared by Savvy1982 at the 2010 RBSG Grand Tasting. Poured a very cloudy amber gold with a light brown head that lasted. Aroma was very funky with barnyard and menthol coming out. There was some nice underlying floral and sour fruit notes as well. Flavor was funky with dry tart apples the main note with some funk underlying. shrubber85 (11411) - Greenville, Indiana, USA - DEC 23, 2005
Bottle. Primarily a musty aroma with fruit tones. Orange yellow with large, quick collapsing head. Light apple juice flavor transitioning to a musty, dry flavor - very much dry wine-like. A nice drier saison. hopscotch (11113) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - MAR 12, 2008
Bottle… Murky, dark caramel ale with a small, creamy, khaki head. Good retention. The aroma is of ripe apples and spice. Light to medium-bodied with soft carbonation. Earthy, but tart and fruity. Reminiscent of green apple cider. Tangy, watery finish. Thanks to mgumby10 for popping the top on this one!

dark yellow with a slight haze, lots of carbonation, nice head that’s easily activated, slightly sweet spicy aroma, hints of pepper, light dry balanced malt flavor, hint of spices and pepper, nice lemon, low on esters, nothing really distinctive, but a good drinking beer, pepper becomes very pronounced in the aroma after warming,

I’m as excited about this one as my last college 3-way (circa 1991). Big thanks to beeryum for popping my Fantome cherry. Pours hazy dark straw with gargantuan white head. Aroma of malt, bread, hopcit, perfumy florals, pears and apricots....nice complex aroma. Tastes malty, fruity, crisp and smooth with multi-layered complexity of flavor. The finish does seem a bit tart and one-dimensional. cubs (10636) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - MAY 27, 2012
Bottle @ Scott’s Summer Saison tasting. Thanks so much Scott! Milky, cloudy orangish brown appearance with a small tan head. Somewhat oxidized, bready, light fusel, somewhat spicy, dark fruity aroma. Orange, dark berry, tangy, somewhat sour, bready, light cardboard flavor. Maybe peaked a little white back but still fun. jercraigs (10374) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 1, 2004
UPDATED: JUN 7, 2004 Re-rate June 5, 2004. Very cloudy golden colour, with big fluffy head. Some bubblegum sweetness in the aroma. Subtle and reserved with a bit of licorice or anis in the background. 7/3/7/3/15
Initial rating: Feb 1, 2004 Big acidic sour aroma, notes of sour cherries? Complex notes of fruit. There is more here than I am capable of pulling out of it as my palate was dominated by the lingering acidity. Quite pleasant. medium Body. 7/3/7/3/17 KyotoLefty (10265) - Kyoto, JAPAN - JUL 28, 2010
Bottle shared by Savvy1982 at the 2010 RBSG Grand Tasting. Thanks! Apple-cider-looking and extremely cloudy. Aroma of spice, apple, citrus, cream. Very dry, with a slight acidic sourness, a little bit of yogurt and apple, herbs-quite herbal. Very nice indeed.
