: bright neon green, kind of colour you would expect in a laboratory in an old cheep sci-fi movie with a white head, amazing & unusual is the least you could say about it, we were told that it was made with green tea & concentrate from spinach (!!! wow) for the colour, taste is that of matcha (like the powdered Japanese green tea one that they use in sweets, milk & ice-cream) herbs, pure tealeaves (mecha), funk, lime, kiwi, yeast & grass, this sure was really something else // tried this one a couple of more times, quite consistent actually by Fantome standards, very yummy, floral, mint, lots of lime, sweetness, very nice
Draft at Fantôme, thanks Dany for changing the keg so we could try this. Pours quite hazy, chartreuse in color, with a giant bright white head. Interesting nose for sure, mineral, light grapefruit and banana, green tea undertones throughout. The draft was much less funky than the bottle and had more yeast esters as well. Lively carbonation and mouthfeel that had creamy body. Sweet esters with almost a citrus cotton candy like flavor, green tea noticeable, but not over the top, mineral notes mid palate with some peppery notes as well. Was expecting to maybe get some vegetal notes from the spinach used to get the color, but that wasn’t the case. What a cool take on a saison and really glad to try it on draft as it was quite different than the bottle. Serious grooving! grunx (367) - - FEB 5, 2012

750 ml bottle; thanks Brandon!! seriously, the best looking beer...ever; dense, cloudy chalky green with huge foamy white head; wow, what a beer; fresh flowers and lemon with some faint vegi, seaweed aroma; more sweet than herbal; pineapple, orange, some light funk; vegi for sure, but also lots of sweet fruit too; vegi saison meets salt water; omg, so glad to have another bottle (thanks grownfool) yannickh (16) - on, BELGIUM - APR 12, 2012
Merci Dany

APPEARANCE: Body is like powdered green tea (matcha) latte mixed with
Large head is 2-3 fingers, white, medium duration, and minimum lace.
AROMA: Mild spice, barnyard, lemon, green tea (matcha) latte, mellow
grass note, vanilla-like creamy element on nose, wet straw.
TASTE: Mellow lemonade with a touch of green tea powder (matcha) and
vanilla bean, as well as a drop of wheat grass and lime. Nice funky element. Wet straw
malt backbone. Faint hint of bitterness on finish.
MOUTH FEEL: Crisp. Slightly tart. Highly quaffable. Somewhat thinner than expected.
OVERALL: Yet another amazing saison from Fantome. The aesthetics add
to the overall enjoyment. Excellent summer beer. Drinks
like a thirst quenching green tea lemonade of the beer world.
2nd most interesting and enjoyable beer have drank this year – after Port’s Older Viscosity.
Green pour with a frothy white head. Lemon pepper, dough, herbal coriander, super spicy yeast, lime, sourdough, perfume, lemon juice, with a prevailing note of tea. The body is light, but carbonation is perfect- pillowy and effervescence. arminjewell (9584) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - AUG 3, 2011
Big thanks to Brandon for this one. Pours yellowish green, not quite the neon green but awesome looking. Aroma has notes of green tea, some biscuit, yeast, sour fruit with lemon, some slight yeast notes to it, touch of white grape in there as well with some wine notes. Taste is nice herbal green tea with lots of lemon zest, sour fruit, some slight biscuit notes, with a nice funky, dry fruity finish, slightly sweet and dry with the tea and the sour notes. Great! notalush (5866) - Denver, Colorado, USA - AUG 3, 2011
Turbid greenish pour, with a hint of yellow - more of a natural green than the glowing turquoise pictured here, so it may just be from the tea - complex soft herbal and wildflower notes in the nose, green tea, lemon and lime zest - slight hay and rustic bitterness - tart, almost sour flavor, with quite a bit of tea and lemon that works well with the sourness - mild honey sweetness - herbal and lemony - very mellow background of funkiness, melon, lime - moderate acidity - everything is really well-integrated - love it.
