COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is a tremendously delicious, textural, and fizzy county ale, bright gold colour, citric and sour, reminiscent of a good champagne or lambic but in a class all its own.
Fantôme – Golden ale, 8% alc. by volume, with a wonderfully musty and characterful aroma. There are many drinkers out there who believe this is the “Nectar of the Gods.” Certainly no other brewer makes beer like this, in Belgium or anywhere. How many beers of 8% plus offer such fresh fruitiness? A solid Belgian saison beer at its base, with an unusual overlay of fruitiness.

taken from notes: Thanks very much to BA idesofmarch89 for this great beer - 750ml shared w/ my wife. Poured chilled into a a cervoise. A - Marigold shade of golden w a full 2 fingers of white cap that dissipates completely but carbonation continues and fine beading develops S - Sweet and sour citrus notes explode out of the glass w/ a mild white grape mixed w/ peaches and honey. The nose is light malt scent w/ tinges of floral hops M - Crisp w/ gentle acidity and a mild sweet texture, a hint of spice and alcohol w/ moderately low carbonation for the style. The feel is nutty/sour in texture which is very juicy T - A very taste taste like marmalade w/ lemon spritz w/ a tinge of white grape and lightly sugared lime w/ mild spice at the end w/ nutty malt/yeast complimenting this highly fruity saison. The apricot and lemony flavor w/ mild wheat-like nuttiness is smooth + seamless w/ a juicy sweet and mild sour element that is well suited to the style D - I would drink this any time of year, not just a summer saison to me. This saison is unique and drinkable like no other. I would choose this over 4 out of 5 saisons most likely. I can’t recommend this enough - intense and slightly sour, but refreshing.

Catch up notes from a Rainbow Project tasting 2017-09-29. We added this one to the line up so we had an established classic beer to compare the contenders with. nose: loads of spice – classic Belgian yeast notes palate: rich, concentrated, spicy, yeasty, sweet candy malt. conclusion: far too drinkable

Pours a hazy golden yellow from the bottle with bubbly white head that dissipates slowly to leave good lace. Aroma of big musty funk over a hint of light citrus and lactic acidity. Taste is all the funk throughout, a hint of lemon like citrus up front, then a dry, grassy finish. Almost the epitome of a tart saison, really well done, and the booze is really well hidden.

Bottle. Cloudy golden pour with a small white head. Aroma is really funky, a little lemony, hint of soap. Taste is really funky and kind of soapy as well, weird. This may have been past its prime.

Kran w Muted Horn. Aromat owocowy, brzoskwinie, przyjemny. W smaku wychodzi dość intensywny alkohol, do tego owoce, nuty przyprawowe.
