ThirstyBird (3028) - Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - FEB 24, 2013
Tasted at RBBWGII - Thanks Eugene! Pours a hazy pale dull yellow color with a small white head. Smells of bitter greens with a slight malt sweetness. Taste is a mix of the malt sweetness, mild bitterness and a slight sourness and lemon drops - quite interesting. Light/medium body with light carbonation. A very interesting and quite tasty brew.

19/I/13 - 75cl bottle @ RBBWG 2013 - BB: n/a (2013-53) Thanks to 77ships for sharing the bottle!

Little cloudy yellow blond beer, small aery white head, unstable, dissipates immediately, some small sediment floating around. Aroma: lots of chloride, citrus, metallic, yoghurt. MF: lots of carbon, medium body. Taste: pretty sour, cheesy, chloride, bitter touch, citrus, bit dirty. Aftertaste: bitter, bit dirty, citrus, dry, metallic, chloride. Wonder where this chloride is coming from...

Light amber colour, white head. Aroma of hops, somewhat sour, strange citrus note. Sour flavour, malts, citrus, saison notes and candy. Light sour finish with citrus notes.
The 5th beer in the Fantôme tasting spree.

75cl bottle sample @ RBBWG 2013, courtesy of 77ships.

75 cl. bottle sampled as part of the for me enjoyable & highly brutal Fantôme horizontal @ RBBWG 2013. I knew that this was either going to downright suck or be great given the age. This is what 2008 Vintage? Label is in excellent condition. Pours a hazy golden. Smell is floral, citrus with candy, very floral with some kitchen herbs and black pepper, nectar and soft flowers. Taste is spunky floral, herbal, kitchen herbs and lot of spices blended with sweet candy, caramel, nectar and flowers, Saint-Gilloise type of Hellerthauer, fruity with lemon and quite a bit of biscuit. No unintentional flavours, wonderfully aged. Fun and airy saison. Slight touch fuller body. I almost feel crazy for rating this much higher than every one is & is going to… I enjoyed this one quite a bit. Oh well, I suppose that tastes are personal.

Benzai (17000) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - JAN 19, 2013
Sampled from bottle @ RBBWG 2013. Hazy yellow to light orange color, small white head. Smell and taste lightly malts, a bit chemical, some sourness, yeast, lightly fruitpeel. Again not really nice imo.

Bottle @ yespr. Pours a hazy golden color with a longlasting white head. Has a fruity malty spicy yeasty floral aroma. Fruity malty spicy yeasty flavor. Has a fruity malty spicy yeasty finish.

3fourths (9381) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - JAN 13, 2013
bottle. hazed golden-orange body with a thin white head and short retention. pear and pineapple gum with green apple jolly rancher candy sweetness throughout; gelatinous on the approach. medium to heavy acidity given the light body (at 7%) with potpourri bath soap / fruit expression beginning to end. after it breathes it becomes fizzy, sweet and acidic, very much resembling a peach-pomegranate kombucha soda pop thing.

faroeviking (11408) - sie con estas chells....., FAROE ISLANDS - JAN 7, 2013
Botella. Hazy deep golden colour, small white head. Fruity like yeasty aroma with spice to it. Good mouthfeel. Flavour has fruit and spice with yeast and a medium bitterness. Sweet fruity yeasty finish.
