Bottle, 2008. Nose of apricot, sweet orange, honey, bread, dough, lemon. Big and complex. Flavor is doughy lemonade, very bready. No hops, but the mandarin peel comes through like American dry hopping in a well aged saison. Great lemon. Fully, oily, silky body with soft fine carbonation. Very fun and original. Some ginger and pepper too. Weird and great.

Bottle - pours gold white head - nose and taste of orange peel, candy sugar, lemon and white pepper - medium body

Santé 1-19 vertical. Hazy yellow body with a small, white head. Smells like the zoo with hints of circus. Basement funk with peanut and earth character. Sourdough bread with a sharp finish. Kiwi, lime, cotton candy, well water, fresh rain. Odd and interesting. Fantôme beers are like the Every Flavor Beans from Harry Potter.

750, corked and capped. Pours a clear burnished pale amber with no head or lace. Big orange, hay, and soft pencil nose. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Grass, hay, and pencil mid palate. Orangey finish.

bottleforager (3211) - Gray, Maine, USA - FEB 10, 2015
Pours a slightly hazy orange golden color with a three fingers of rising white foam. Floral lavender, sourdough bread, basement must, jasmine, honey, citrus peel. Sweet up front with nice floral earthy midpalate and lots of citrus, yeast esters and bitterness on the finish.

Bottle from grownfool - thanks! OK, I have to admit at this point of the evening I was transcribing notes to The Bride because I could not operate a pen. I distinctly remember mentioning peppery, winey flavors and a slightly water palate. All she mentioned was the palate. So there’s that.

drainpour (39) - Santa Rosa, USA - SEP 19, 2014
Corona and lime/lemon on the nose, tastes like a Belgian corona, perfect Belgian grain, balanced by lemon and wonderfulness with some tart. Almost like a westy 12 malt with some creme freshe lemon on it.

Ratman197 (15890) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - AUG 28, 2014
750 ml bottle poured a clear gold with a small lingering off whit head. Aromas of straw, pepper, yeast, light earthiness and a hint of citrus. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of straw, pepper, citrus and light horse blanket with a crisp dry lingering peppery finish.

75 cl bottle purchased from Etre. Shared at Fantomefest 2014. One of the standouts of the Sante lineup in my opinion. Murky pale orange in color with some soapy bubbles around the ring of the glass. The nose is herbal, spicy, and citric. The flavor is incredibly unique. It starts out herbal and sweet with some honey character, then transitions to some chai spiciness, before concluding with some faint lemon. Moderate mouthfeel with medium carbonation. This one was a winner for me, a very unique beer that I will be purchasing more of. Well done Dany!

Bottle. Hazy light amber liquid with huge white head. Aroma of lemon peel, jenka, barnyard, grain, white pepper and bread. Taste is dry and light bitter with notes of lemon peel, bread and jenka. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Quite nice.

DavoleBomb (1867) - Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 19, 2013
Poured into a tulip. Bottled in ’08, so this is getting up in the years. 3.0 A: Well hazed brown tinted yellow color. Two fingers of fizzy white head. Retention is below average and no lacing is left. 3.5 S: This is easily one of the oddest noses I’ve ever smelled. A very potent and equally surprising lemon lime aroma is most apparent. It actually smells a good bit like a lime margarita - even has a tequila note to it. After that there is herbal aloe vera, dirty funk, quince, and some hay. Peppery spice and a mild yeastiness. 4.0 T: Taste is much like the nose. This is a lime margarita flavored saison. Loads of lime and especially the rind, less lemon, tequila. Herbal aloe vera, dirty outdoors funk, hay, peppery yeastiness. 5.0 M: Lighter medium body. Light, spritzy carbonation. Pretty much perfect feel given the flavors. Good creaminess. 4.0 D: This is definitely an oddball, but I appreciate a diversion from the norm every now and then. Must try if you like weird, saisons, or margaritas.
