Backlog from our Fantome tasting in DC. Bottle sampled courtesy of Brad. I remember trying this bottle a couple Christmas ago and enjoying it quite a bit. The beer poured a pale orange/peach color with a slight haze. Nose was comprised of citrus fruits and "herbal" funkiness. Taste was lemon and lime zest and "herbal" again with some light acidity. It finished slightly bitter. Light to moderate mouthfeel, lively carbonation, and a dry finish. From my memory, this ended up being one of the better Sante we had that day. Had a lot of the same characteristics I remembered from the first time I had it, so I was pleased to see it was aging gracefully. AcctError96987 (3723) - Washington DC, USA - MAR 5, 2016
Santé 1-19 vertical. Thanks Brad.
Sunshine yellow body, slightly hazy, small white head. Aromas of pear, melon, funk, citrus, grass, earth. Tart and fruity. Quite tasty! after4ever (8025) - Mukilteo, Washington, USA - AUG 8, 2015
750, corked and capped. Pours a clear burnished pale amber. Headless. Lemon and hay nose. Grass and hay and lemon mid palate. Long mild finish. teorn88 (7682) - Rimini, ITALY - DEC 21, 2014
Backlog rating. 75cl bottle from Etre. It pours a hazy golden color with a large white head. Aroma is tangy and fruity with notes of citrus peel, lime leaves, barnyard and funk. Also notes of wood, wet soil and green apples. Taste is acidic and complex, funky like a lambic, with notes of green apples, dank, barnyard, lemon and lime, wet soil, wood, dust and white grapes. Light peppery yeasts. Medium bodied with good carbonation. Overall, standout saison, miles away from anything produced globally today, including Fantome alas. Bottle. Super hazy grayish amberish liquid with fast dissipating medium egg white head. Aroma of citrus peel, grain, yuzu, white pepper, spices and light pineapple. Taste is dry and light sour with notes of lemon, pineapple juice, light grain and light white pepper. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Maybe a bit too old as it’s not very bright anymore. Nice still.

Pours mostly unclear golden with light sediment and good carbonation as have all the Santes we had tonight. The aroma brings a light sweet and herbal note, maybe marjoram and some weed. The flavor is delicious as well, bringing light tropical fruits and a smooth sweet yeast. ClubGonzo (5685) - Bergen, NORWAY - JUN 19, 2013
Bottle from trade with 77ships. Pours a light pale clear golden body with a medium, short-lasting foamy white head. Nose is strange and seems brett-infected; sweet malts and weird sour tones, burnt plastic and band-aid all over the place. Taste is also peculiar, with sweet malts and some strange burn-plastic like tones present, though not as imposing as in the aroma. Hints of band-aids and grains. Medium body, soft to near-flat carbonation. Not good, all in all. I suspect this is one of the bottles which supposedly show up on a regular basis and has earned Dany his reputation as a "hit-n-miss" brewer. Oh well, I guess you have to have one of these to claim having had a complete "Fantome Experience". :-P jackl (8271) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - JUN 12, 2013
Bottle @ Bruce’s. Devious delayed gusher. The pour’s hazy amber with a small head. The nose is peach, some fart, farmhouse yeasty earthiness. The taste is fanta, moldy peach, some marmalade. A bit of earth, dirt. Medium body, active carbonation. All over the place, but not without its charms. OK. Scopey (15290) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUN 10, 2013
Bottle, shared at Bruce’s. Odd slow gusher with red streaks spewing out of it initially! In the glass it pours cloudy pale gold with a quickly dissipating white head. The nose is earthy, light sulphur, mouldy wood, faint smoke and armpit. The taste is earth, mouldy, damp wood, tart fruit, pithy lemon, light soap, spice, nectarine, apricot and light alcohol with a dry, tart finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Thankfully the taste makes up (a bit) for the dodgy aroma. Pretty fantome all-round. I.e. unusual/weird. madmitch76 (25101) - , Essex, ENGLAND - MAY 29, 2013

’Paul takes a brown shower’ tasting at Bruce’s pad. Thanks Paul. Weird looking beer - a moderate gusher, it foamed pale cream with scarlet streaks like it was bleeding. Very odd. When eventually in the glass it is cloudy gold. Palate is light and chalky dry. Light geueze sourness with an off soapy streak. Semi dry finish. Pretty grim.
