brokensail (16600) - Dublin, California, USA - MAY 2, 2012
A pale golden color with a white head. The amount of tropical fruit on the nose is just insane (and wonderful). Great guava and passion fruit (to name a few) along with some pale malt and yeast. The flavor is somewhat sweet, but that is in part due to the intense fruit character of the beer. Excellent tropical fruit with a touch of citrus. Some notes of yeast and grass, lightly earthy as well.

750ml bottle at Fantome-a-thon 2012.

Pours slightly hazy yellow/orange (more yellow), tall white head, not much retention. The aroma is initially kind of skunky but behind that is a ton of tropical fruits. Nice. Flavor is crazy fruity. Grapefruit, apricot, a touch of skunk, low bitterness. The skunk adds a bit of an earthy weed quality that actually goes nicely with the beer. Awesome beer all around.

fonefan (49996) - VestJylland, DENMARK - APR 10, 2012

Bottle 750ml.

Light unclear medium yellow colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, herbs, fruity, canabis. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, white pepper, fruit, herbs - herbal. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20120128]

decaturstevo (6339) - decatur, Tennessee, USA - MAR 27, 2012
Hazed yellow pour with creamy white head. Aroma of medium brown sugar and a dirty sockiness. A bit of funk flavor with paper and wheat. Thin and watery but refreshing. An interesting beer.

bu11zeye (13029) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - MAR 22, 2012

Boutip (6432) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 11, 2012
Bottle: Poured a cloudy dirty beige color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of light funky ester, semi-sweet rustic malt notes with light refreshing zesty hops notes. Taste is quite refreshing with zesty notes and light funky ester with a semi-sweet rustic Belgian malt backbone. Body is quite full with great bottle conditioning and great carbonation with no apparent carbonation. This has to be considered as a hit for the brewery which is not known for consistency.

djd07 (15271) - Houston, Texas, USA - MAR 5, 2012
Bottle shared during RBWG 2012. Pours a cloudy yellow with a small off white head leaving sticky lacing. The aroma is sour fruit and tart. Medium mouthfeel with a sour fruit flavor and crisp finish. Easy to drink ad refreshing a very good Belgian strong ale from Fantome.

Hazy grapefruit color with a white head and some lacing. Tart fruit, floral, lemon, yeasty, barnyard with a dry finish. A nice unique beer.

2/25/12. Bottle shared during RBWG 2012. Crazy aroma of mango, pineapple, pot, and funkiness. Slightly sweet entry with more of that dank fruitiness, caramel, funk, and more. This is crazy.

Rating 3000. As long as it doesn’t get stirred up, it’s a clean glowing golden body with a frothy white head. I based my rating on the clear pour that I had. Once mixed up, however, it’s murky like lemonade and iced team mixed. The aroma is very floral. Like actual flower petals. Some lemon zest. Perhaps hyacinth or paper white narcissus and a dash of kaffir lime leaves. A dash of honey suckle. The flavor is very floral with lemon zest, some light lime leaf, definite edible flowers, and light malt. This is a really strange beer that I am glad to have rated. Very clean palate. Medium-light bodied.
