3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Backlog from our Fantome tasting in DC in March. Not sure if this was provided by Adam or Brad, but regardless, thank you to whoever brought it. Pours a translucent brownish orange in color with a small amount of head. Nose is aromatic herbs, dank wood, and lemon. Flavor is all over the place. Tart lemon acidity, oregano, ash tray, and shrub. Medium bodied with a, sadly, lasting finish. Was not much of a fan of this one. While it was actually pretty complex, all the different elements didn’t work well together.

Santé 1-19 vertical. Thanks Stakem!
Clear, golden yellow body with a quarter inch of white head. The aroma brings assorted herbal and floral notes. Forest, earth, mushroom, oregano, cracked pepper, wood chips. The flavor is an odd combogulation of the aforementioned characteristics. Complex, weird, unique.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle, 75cl. 2006 vintage. It’s a clear, golden beer topped by an off-white head of moderate size. Lots of oregano on the nose, with little else escaping the glass. Some maltyness and lemon. The flavor is quite lemony acidic, with oregano, some black pepper, white sugar and a little bitterness. Medium body, quite effervescent and dry. Citrusy, lemony finish with some herbs and spices. At first, there’s too much oregano in this one, but it turnes out to be a pretty nice beer for sure. 140301
