COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Seasonal - December. Also available bottle conditioned.
A deliciously full bodied beer with lots of coffee and chocolate flavours. Available throughout the festive period. To add to the soft ‘feel’ of the beer, we used a small quantity of Maldon Sea salt.

Grumbo (3109) - Ipswich, Suffolk, ENGLAND - JUL 26, 2017
Bottle from the Food Company, Marks Tey, Essex. Pours very dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, malt, vanilla, dark and slightly sour fruit. Moderate sweetness and medium roasted bitterness. Medium body, slight oily texture, very soft carbonation. Finish is dry, nutty and slightly salty.

imdownthepub (14755) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - MAY 23, 2013
Bottle conditioned, present from Sandra. Dark brown with cream head. Quite thin with a tartish flavour, fruity with a slight bitterness. A little underwhelming.

Dark brown beer, just about clear. Minerally malt nose with subtle spice. Light semi dry palate. Light dark-malt with subtle milk chocolate and equally subtle fruit. Finishes dry with dry spice. All right but a bit wimpy!

chriso (7569) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 18, 2011
Cask (gravity dispense) at the Pigs Ear Beer Festival, London on 6 December 2006. Reddish brown colour. Not particularly dark for a stout. Caramel and roast malt aroma. More toasty malt, with a light powdering of cocoa on the palate. Mouthfeel is fairly dry and quite light. Palatable but not a lot happening. Could use a bit more oomph.

duff (5484) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - MAR 16, 2007
[email protected] Ear BF 06. Quite a light stout. Lightly roasty, with some fruity characters. Some light crystal malt notes. Malty and too light.

SilkTork (5755) - Southampton, United Kingdom, Hampshire, ENGLAND - DEC 31, 2006
Pigs Ear. A bland, slightly wishy-washy, soapy, dull stout of no genuine character. Drinkable, and better than a pale lager. But not much.

3.3
harrisoni (18819) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - DEC 13, 2006
Cask gravity, Pig’s Ear. Very deep brown/ruby with no head. Good aroma of choc, bit of plastic, smoke on the flavour. Like smoked mackeral. Dark fruits. Roasted malt on end. OK.
