hopdog (12510) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 3, 2006
Bottle. Poured a dark brown color with a smaller sized borwn head. Aromas of roasted malts, chocolate, and light caramel. Tastes of roasted / burnt malts, chocolate, caramel, and had a coffee bitter finish. With the name, I was expecting more of a Lacto presence.

rosenbergh (11532) - Tampere, FINLAND - NOV 13, 2009
250 ml bottle. From Malta. HHOK blind tasting. Thanks Jukka.
Black colour with small to average tan head. Lots of chocolate, some sour lactose and hints of fruits in aroma. Mild hops, burned malt and lactose sourness in flavour. Watery and thin.

shrubber85 (11392) - Greenville, Indiana, USA - JAN 6, 2007
Bottle. Smoked cheddar cheese aroma. Dark black-brown color with small film of a head. Cream cheese/unsweetened yogurt and toasted bread flavor. Fairly light body. An interesting unique beer for number 1500.

cubs (10635) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - NOV 25, 2010
Tasted from a 11.2 oz bottle purchased in Denver, Colorado. Pours a deep black body with a medium brown/black head that dissipates pretty quickly. Incredibly wine-like and alcoholic in the head (even though it’s rated at around 4% ABV). This is probably from the lactose. Creamy and milky mouthfeel. Dark malty flavor like a stout with a definitive milk-like character (again probably from the lactose). Quite thin and smooth.

leaparsons (10546) - Wigston, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - MAY 25, 2006
Bottle. Black with a beige head. Aromas are sweet coffee with lactose. Also has mollasses and cream. Has earthy sweet roast root vegetable notes. Flavours are sweet and sugary roast malts with chocolate and powdered milk. Has some berry fruit with sweet, sticky mollasses. Quite dry on the finish. Extremely tasty for its strength.

BVery (10500) - Plymouth, Minnesota, USA - OCT 28, 2011
Bottle. Very dark/black pour with a thin brown head. Aroma is like artificial sweetener. Thin palate, taste also seems contrived - slight fruit, slight sweetness.

3.2
DuffMan (10425) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - MAR 10, 2010
Bottle. Pours a heavy dark brown with russet highlights and a short-lived brown cap. Sweet caramel aroma with almost a cola quality. Palate is creamy smooth from low carbonation. Flavours are sweet dark caramel with a nice "musty cork" undertone, and hints of cooked raisins. Slightly tart lactic finish. Certainly on the lighter side, but cool in an old-school kinda way.

alexsdad06 (10389) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - OCT 28, 2014
12 oz. bottle picked up locally and consumed at home. Pours dark brown to black with a medium sized beige head that disappears quickly. The aroma had roasted malt, some sweetness, cream, a splash of cocoa and coffee, with some metallic character. The flavor is much of the same, light roast, light cocoa, light coffee, some creamy sweetness with metallic character throughout. Thin and watery. Pass.
