On tap at the brewpub. Pours clear golden with thin white head. Aroma is malt, spicy hops and grass. Flavor pretty much the same. I really like the spicy character of this beer. Benzai (15606) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - NOV 7, 2013
50cl bottle shared by Dutchdrebus @ weekly tasting. Clear golden color, small white head. Smell and taste malts, lightly hoppy, hay, straw, lightly bitter. Very nice actually. tgncc (3132) - Bellmore, New York, USA - MAR 27, 2015
At the brewery. Clear gold color. Nice aroma, gras, malty. Nice crisp taste, grass, pils malt. Clean finish, nice noble hops. Nice and fresh. This is why you need to do these beers right in Bavaria, not when they’ve been imported. omhper (25113) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - APR 4, 2002
Golden coloured. Malty but dry. Bitter. A true to style very traditional German style pilsener.

nice pils for the town of bamberg started the night out here and staggered across the street to spezial rauch brewery. any way this pils is on the dry side and a little hoppy and thin bodied but quite good for a inexpensive beer Indra (2711) - Suburbia, Kansas, USA - NOV 1, 2004
On draught at Fässla. Full-on fresh hop aroma, so peppery and spicy that it must be Saaz, but also lightly floral and perfumed. Light-medium golden yellow color with a white, creamy head. Flavor is primarily a hop fest, bitter, spicy and dry, lending a welcomely refreshing effect. Finish features a burst of hop flavor and bitterness. Body is light-medium. Very nicely done Pils, quenching and flavorful. anders37 (26625) - Malmö, SWEDEN - JAN 14, 2005
Bottle. Hazy golden colour. Big white head. A bit spicy smell, smell of grass too. Malty smell as well. Low in carbonation. Smooth balanced taste. Not very bitter for a pilsener. You get some bitternees in the aftertaste. This is a beer i like. TheBeerLover (1027) - DC Metro Area, USA - JAN 28, 2006
Germany has a real beer culture, and Germans like to get an early start. It was not uncommon for me to be returning from an early morning walk after breakfast, to find the pub at Fassla packed with locals at 10am! When in Bamberg! I got pretty thirsty after a brisk walk, and found myself enjoying a few 1/2 liters of this beer, and felt no guilt drinking beer before Noon. Fassla Pils is a very well done, very balanced drinkable Pils with good hop and malt character, the type of beer you will want to have a few of.
Fassla Pils pours to a beautiful, bright, golden color with a nice, bright, white head, and a good bit of carbonation. The nose is pleasing with crisp pilsner malt aroma, paired with grassy/herbal hop aromas. The palate is crisp with good pilsner malt flavor, on a very smooth and round body. Fassla Pils finishes with more crisp and grainy pale malt flavors up front, the ends with a grassy/herbal bitterness that balances out the malt character of this beer.
This is a tasty, smooth, very drinkable German Pils. A nice beer to enjoy a few liters of in the pub at Fassla, or a good beer to match up with a hearty Franconia meal in the rustic, wooden panel, pine table topped restaurant. Nothing over the top here, the type of beer just ideal for drinking more so than anything else. I really enjoyed this one, and this and their lager bier were the beers I started and ended my day with. It was hard not to, as all I had to do was literally walk down a flight of stairs from the second floor hotel, and I was in the pub and ready for a fresh draught of beer. If you ever find yourself in Bamberg, Fassla is well worth a visit. Its central location is really great, and it does not hurt that Brauerei Spezial is located directly across the street for when you crave a rauchbier. rickgordon (3878) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - AUG 11, 2008
On draught at the brewpub.
Pale amber colour with diminishing head. Fresh malty aroma with some hops noticed. Good balanced flavour and bitterness from grassy, herbal hops. Well crafted beer here, with hop accentuation.
