Bottle at Carsten & Jette.
Dark amber with a small white head. Aroma moderate malty (roasted) and hoppy. Flavor moderate sweet and bitter. Medium body. dwyerpg (6410) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - OCT 9, 2010
Looks like dirty water when it pours. This is just an amber ale really, but darker in color. some malts, a little metal, a bit different from the other standard German spices. Okay. KyotoLefty (10675) - Kyoto, JAPAN - JUN 28, 2010
Bottle at the brewery.
To speak the truth, a rather uninteresting unfiltered dunkel, when coming from a bottle after the lager or pils here. Medium dark, very little malt taste and almost no sweetness. A good bit of hops. I was already past prime tasting ability by this time, but it was a significant letdown after the lager. Not bad, but lacking most of what I expect in a darker beer. fugitive (2044) - Athens, GREECE - JUN 27, 2010
Color dark red with small head. Aroma roasted malt, caramel, hop. Taste grain, light smoke.

Cycled into town (Bamberg) from our campsite just outside at Bug 17-06-10 had this on tap at the brewery tap. Pours chestnut in colour with a white head, good clarity Some toffee and mineral notes detected on nose, and also in the mouth, soft mouthfeel. Surprisingly thin for the abv, bitterness at end. Hmmm, not for me. It looks pretty but it’s very watery and has a not so great aftertaste. Damn, got the 1/5 liter bottle so I have some way to go. But I’m going for it! KimJohansen (10497) - Frederiksberg C, DENMARK - MAR 26, 2010

Sulphur aroma like the other beers from Fassla. Maybe with a hint of toffee hidden somewhere. More toffee and some malts in the flavor. Not at all a bad beer.
Bottle shared by alexanderj. Brown pour. Dark german beer flavors, some smoke and sweet grain. Traditional dark lager, and decent in that regard.
