Bottle. Pours a clear amber golden with a small white head. Light aroma of roasted malt, sweet malty, a touch of coffee and roasted malts and some fruitiness. Mild dry malty taste, also mild malty and only very shy bitter (chocolatey) finish.

50 cl bottle. Pours clear and golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is breadish and malty, light hoppy note. Sweet, light butterish and caramelish. Ends medium dry and slight bitter.

An orange beer with a white head. The aroma is very faintly malty. The flavor though is sweet malty with light notes of caramel combined with a hints of alcohol. Boring. I find both the appearance and the alcohol content of this beer closer to that of a bock than a dunkel.

joergen (28377) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - AUG 14, 2006
Bottle. Clear amber coloured with an off white head. Aroma of malts, grain and caramel. Flavour of malts, caramel and hops.

Draft @ the brewpub. Pours an amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty grainy caramel aroma. Fruity malty grainy caramel flavor. Has a fruity malty grainy caramel finish.

oh6gdx (26487) - Vasa, FINLAND - AUG 27, 2007
Bottled. Deep reddish colour with mediumsized beige head. ARoma is fruits, nectar and slight hints of glue. Flavour is very much the same. Quite weird brew for being German, but still quite pleasant and drinkable.

omhper (25243) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - APR 4, 2002
Pale nut brown. Dry coffeeish. Flavourful and interesting, but on the thin side.

Papsoe (25062) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JUN 21, 2006
(Bottle 50 cl) Pours a clear amber golden with a small, white head. Light aroma of roasted malt. Rather solid body with distinct notes of roasted malt. Lightly alcoholic finish. Solid if not exactly thrilling German brew. Not really a Dunkel, but not a straight Bock either. 200606

Bamberg Bash Day 2. Train bottle swig. Light haze on this deep amber beer, big off white head. Smooth and dry palate. Light fine carbonation. Smooth malt with a little burned toffee. Light dried fruits and mild dry finish. Not bad.

Leighton (21463) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - NOV 15, 2015
Bottle shared on the train during day 2 of the Bamberg Jolly of January 2014. Pours clear amber-gold with a foamy white head. Toasted bread, dry caramel. Very tasty stuff. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Pretty crisp on the finish with crunchy toasted cereal, moderate caramel. Lovely beer. Very drinkable.
