Look; fawn head and clear copper body. Aroma; brown malts, malted candies, plum bowl, prune notes, leafy hops, caramel, dough, bread. Taste; dark caramel, malts, plum peel, grassy notes, grainy bread, and goes into a oily malty finish. Normal body and soft carbonation. Quite tasty fruity, as a good polotmawy. FlacoAlto (4176) - Tucson, Arizona, USA - AUG 13, 2003
A nice pleasing brown color to it. This beer has a nice subtle malty sweetness to it that is followed by a mild hop bite to it, that I found quite refreshing on this particular occasion. My beer sodden taste buds thought there was a hint of smokiness to this beer as well.

Bottle, at the brewery tap. Deep amber bronze, almost chestnut colour. Good lasting off white head and moderate condition. Gentle mix of caramel malt and hop resin in the nose, Gentle toffee and caramel malt with some hop notes developing in the mouth. Starts sweet in the finish then becomes chalky dry with a touch of roasted barley.

0,50 cl bottle Maruhn - dark, not much foam, some roast, no alcohol, but very flat and stale: drinkable, but not much of a pleasurable drink (cf. The tasty Weissenoher Dunkel)
